  1. Reading your posts over the past few years often reminds me of an Architect that worked in my office back in the 1980s in the pre-internet drawing board days. Most of his working day was spent checking drawings and “redlining” errors with an actual red pen. Over time he noticed that his “criticising” day job was spilling over into his life outside work and that he couldn’t help criticising errors wherever and whenever he saw them. His wife, he said, was particularly impressed with his critical ability. I suppose that the curse of expecting perfection is to live with eternal disappointment*.   10. Step lights added. The were cut from a strip cut from a larger sheet of black coloured plasticard, gripped in the jaws of some small pliers and given rounded ends with a scrap of sandpaper. Once glued in place the front face was given a coat of BR light grey. Cheers Darius
  11. I should have said “representations” of the step lights. I’m not intending to add actual step lights like leds or anything. Sorry if this is a disappointment. Cheers Darius

  15. Hi Barry, I have been away from Aircraft Modelling lately - focusing on Railway Modelling - so haven’t really seen the Trumpeter kit in the flesh.   22. Many years ago I went InterRailing and visited a place called Merens-les-Vals in the French Pyrenees. The SNCF line had a loop in a tunnel on the line there from Ax-les-Thermes as I recall. There was a distinct squealing of flanges in that tunnel. Cheers Darius

  24. Having a first browse through “Parting Shot - the railway photographs of Norman Johnston”. What a wonderful book albeit with a sad but touching preface. Darius
