Even in perfect condition the original Heljan Class 86 was not quite perfect. Didn’t that bloke play the Albert Hall once? Cheers Darius
-
This original production Heljan Class 86 is missing a bit more than the pantograph and roof bus bars I think. Cheers Darius

The Peco bullhead range was popular when first introduced and quite a few have planned and started layouts based on it only to have them stalled for lack of current and newly proposed bullhead track from Peco. This latest news is disappointing, but perhaps not surprising, to a lot of people, myself included. I trust that Peco’s production priorities are more attuned to your needs. Either way don’t thumb your nose to those feeling let down. Darius

Is the production of the existing code 75 bullhead items (flexitrack and large radius turnouts) also being put back or is it just the proposed new(ish) items? Darius

I think he’s already had a try out in the recovery truck... Cheers Darius

I think they do require some level of driving competence so alas no. Unless of course Daddy Putinbucks donates a wad of cash to boost the council budget each year. Darius

Perhaps the seller will let you have it on tick... Cheers Darius

Are you sure it’s not a wind-up? Darius

Hi Ian, All of the track on the scenic section is/will be Peco bullhead wooden sleepered track so alas no concrete sleepered track I am afraid. Cheers Darius

We had a track painting session today using an airbrush and suitably thinned Phoenix track colour enamel. After cleaning the rail tops we tested the electrics - all working fine. Ballasting tomorrow... Cheers Darius

Locomotion & Rails of Sheffield announce SE&CR D Class

Presumably by “drive tyre” you mean “traction tyre”? If you do, I think it’s a shadow against the flange of the driving wheel rather than a traction tyre. Strange choice of first post for you on RMWeb. Darius -
I have - generally wagons that were reasonably priced. My impression is that he sticks a mark up on whatever he paid for the item and sticks to it come what may despite this meaning that said item will most likely never sell. Darius

Not madness, but these might come in useful for those contemplating long journeys on the ironing board seats provided in the latest uK passenger trains. Cheers Darius

Another gem from our favourite vendor. For those that want to replace the Hornby body with something hideous. As he says “what you see is what you get”. Cheers Darius

So, in summary, best try Fox or Railtec then… Cheers Darius -
Methinks a Mk1 Buffet is perhaps not the best starting point for a “Caroline” inspection coach project… Cheers Darius PS I had to look twice at the last part of the seller’s eBay handle

I know. It’s a mystery... Cheers Darius

Thanks Pat - now I just need a layout to run them on. A friend and I are building a large layout in his garden shed but we are some time away from continuous running. I do have a plan for a small roundy roundy/photo plank using the baseboards that used to support the shed helix. One day… Cheers Darius
