According to the latest Bachmann times engineering samples of the 25’s have been received. There is a picture and they look really good but not sure if I can reproduce it here due to copyright.

I had 47712 on order with Hornby but have decided for better sound quality, lighting and better all round detail to cancel it and go with the Bachmann one. I wonder if the choice of this model is just coincidence or deliberate that it duplicates the Hornby one.

How have you guys fitted the coupling as both ends have pipes fitted? Have you trimmed the pipes or just pulled them out with plyers -or do the pipes even need removing -will the coupling fit? thanks mark

Rather than state what I have on order I am pleased to say what is coming thanks to accurascale’s flexibility is already paid and accounted for and therefore almost guilt free! However I always do feel a tinge of guilt when a box arrives for me and the missus spots it- “you spend more on trains than you do on me”! Personally don’t understand the issue!

Anyway just to echo my own comments above ,great service received as always from Barry and co (and a bit of gentle ribbing over the phone)! I see the HST surrogate DVT is starting to arrive with retailers. I assume there is still working lights etc. Will give me some variety with my swallow intercity power cars too. Looking forward to it arriving.

I thought that they already had printed nameplates and these are to go over?

Curiously R3874 the soon to be expected 7 car set is showing as preorder but the expected winter 21-22 tag has been dropped. Has delivery slipped or just a website thing!

Do you mean the 7 car sets as the 5 car sets have been showing in stock at Hornby on their website for over a week now?

I believe you are correct and they are tier 3. So would order from elsewhere given the option.

I messaged one retailer over the weekend and they were still awaiting their 5 car sets.

Hornby also made the internals more secure, the Lima models were known for dislodging drive shafts, I had a few I had to put back into place when they arrived!

Kernow usually just automatically take the money and send assuming your credit card and everything is in date.

Dapol OO gauge pendolino- wouldn't stay on the track Bachmann first dynamis system -soon went wrong -was sent back to Bachmann they couldn't find a fault but in my shed the controller couldn't find the base station. GT3- excited to get one now arrived missing the wow factor for me at least also need to stick down that right hand walkway bit that's lifted- took the shine off it for me! In some ways I find the anticipation of the model better than the arrival- weird I know!!!!! For example really keen for my APT and class 86's to arrive this week hopefully but when they do they will probably sit in the box for a while before they are opened.

So having seen a couple of pics of the 5 car on layouts- how are we finding them -running ok (apart from the extra ndm issue), light bleed ok or not- any derailing issues- just to point out not looking for issues hopefully my 7 car will come this next week, hoping for flawless reports!

Thanks Paul this ties in with what I was told in that the 7 car packs being due the week of the 17th, will have to build a layout on my week off to run it! Got the Hornby catalogue in front of me with neither the 5 or 7 car packs having the black mask. I think this year it should be on the 5 car set.

According to sawyer models on facebook these have arrived!
