  1. If I wasn't working I would have volunteered but can't help but think they would have been better with a questionnaire sent out (like the one Boris got from the police) and then discuss the common themes in more focussed groups if necessary. They could send me a questionnaire they have my email I keep getting marketing from them!
  2. Was supposed to be cutting my model railway spending but you haven't helped! Hopefully I can pay in installments like last time to enable me to pay it off before delivery therefore avoiding credit card use. Thank you though never thought I would be so excited to see a new class 31 being announced!
  3. I think when I asked about the expected delivery date of the apt in January I was told the intercity 91 was due around 28th Feb but anything could have happened since I asked to change that!
  4. I do wonder if this has moved to being a purely accurascale release which we will see announced once the Deltics or another awaited loco has arrived as they won’t announce any new loco’s until we have one in our hands.
  5. So when is the next show Hornby will be attending - Scotrail?? Will someone politely ask on the stand what has happened to put us out of our misery?
  6. I wonder if Hornby will ask for this thread to be deleted as they try to erase the whole episode from their history as they have done with their website and you tube launch video!
  7. I have had the same email as Paul but have not completed as I have had no issues as yet with my set although I do intend to remove the capacitors in the power cars to avoid an issue. I don't feel I can fill in the form based on others experience. I did think I have never had this with a Hornby direct purchase before and wonder if its coincidence or an attempt to find out how many have had issues with this model without shouting from the rooftops there is an issue!
  8. My apt has been fine so far but don’t intend to run it again until after I have taken the capacitor out. I can’t help but think the situation seems worse because of that Hornby programme. All those promises about getting things right and detail detail detail! I think the will is there but it’s lacking in the execution of the model (and not just the apt). I wonder if there will be another series or follow up programme that would be a laugh! Just a thought if the capacitor went pop and I removed it assuming no external damage- should the model still be able to run without return to Hornby (who would just put another one in)?
  9. I love Alderford its a brilliant layout, did see someone's video yesterday which they kindly posted and wondered why there was so much freight but it didn't show the whole layout so didn't know it was roundy roundy- what have they done are all the platforms through platforms now or something?
  10. So what do these capacitors look like? Can you snip one end or do you have to fully remove and solder wire across the contacts, are they the capacitors for TV suppression? Sorry so many questions but are we sure they are the problem?
  11. Have a great break Jim and thanks for the thread. Quick question you seem to predominantly drive class 66 ~ do you get bored of them and hope for something else or are you quite happy with them? I think you had a bit more variation with Colas? cheers mark
  12. Have a chat with the service department at Bachmann, It used to be about £25 quid for them to look at the model and repair although the cost of the parts may add to this. I think if possible I would send to them and let them sort it they have been to me really helpful in the past.
  13. Already discussed on the APT thread.
  14. Yep just like everyone else but anyway.
  15. Just watched he video and he stated that at the time of the program going out Hornby didn't send him any to sell for the predicted demand but as far as I am aware at that time there were only 3 in the country (as stated by Pete Waterman at Chester) so none were available for anyone to sell. Having said that I can understand his frustration regarding the tier system!
  16. Hereford models also show them in stock
  17. Thanks for the comparison photos until you posted I had no clue just how far out (assuming the new model is accurate) the older model is. Quite an eye opener (well for me anyway).
  18. Just wow -Hornby are pushing us to order direct- Kernow were the only tier 1 shop I was aware of and now even they are being shafted! Does Hornby's right hand know what it's left hand is doing?
  19. Put mine on the track this evening noted headlights flashing but only high pitched noise when headlights illuminated, but the red lights were fine. Also noted body not level on the chassis ,front of loco rides higher than the rear. Will take it apart at some point and take a look hopefully a dcc chip will sort the headlights otherwise it’s going back.
  20. You know this has been discussed for at least the last 3 days?
  21. Thanks Andy, don't disagree but I am sure @Andy Y will have some high resolution ugly close up pics to show soon.
  22. Still available for pre-order at kernow though https://www.kernowmodelrailcentre.com/p/74229/R30093-Hornby-Trains-on-Film-The-Titfield-Thunderbolt-Train-Pack Message not filtered through or Hornby still hopeful of a deal?
  23. Probably asked too many ‘awkward’ questions!
