  1. Hi Grumps, That looks absolutely stunning. The weathering (as I have said before) is so realistic. Looking forward to seeing the loco together (as I bet you are too ) Cheers Lee
  2. Hi Cav, That is looking really good. Some nice use of subtle colours and I bet once ballasted it will look absolutely superb. Enjoying watching B-o-T develope and looking forward to buildings being placed in-situ. Cheers Lee
  3. Hi Cav, It's nice to see some progress on B-o-T. The track work looks superb and I can now see why you feel quite passionate about building your own track. Cheers Lee
  4. Hi Peter, Looking forward to seeing those new 20's out on Llanbourne. Merry Christmas and hope to see you in the UK in 2016. Cheers Lee
  5. Hi Alex, The latest installment of weathering the inside of the shed is looking great and very realistic. Your attention to detail is quite outstanding. Best wishes for a Merry Christmas and looking forward to more updates soon from Boxenby. Cheers Lee

How about Railfreight Red & Grey!!!

  8. Thank you for that. It is a very effective method... one I shall be attempting myself. Cheers Lee
  9. Hello Mr Grumpy, Wow this build is becoming epic. I really like the weathered bogie photos above, how did you achieve the finish as it looks like the real thing? Many thanks for sharing this with us and keep up the good work you'll be finished soon and then you can move onto the Dogfish Cheers Lee
  10. Hi Cav, Yes I know, I have used them before and just used wet and dry to reduce their diameter and shape them. I'm looking to put some LEDs into the No 2 end (cab end) of my class 20 but because there is hardly any depth to the cab front 'wall' I don't want tower LED's sticking out into the cab as you can see in through the large windows. I was thinking if I used the tower part of the LED lens and use a very small SMD I might get away with this obtrusion. It's only a thought at the moment and I may just have to go with the tower LEDs anyway. When will you get back to laying track?... I really enjoyed watching you build that... sheer genius!!! Cheers Lee
  11. Hi Cav, Thank you for that info. I think they may be bit big for what I want, I may have to look at using SMD LED combined with the lens from a tower LED. Cheers Lee
  12. Hi Cav, I hope you don't mind me asking but what are these LED's exactly and where did you manage to get them from? Cheers Lee
  13. Hi Jeremy, This is really coming along leaps and bounds now. I don't envy you the task of threading all those chairs onto the rail but the end result is absolutely excellent. Cav is doing a superb job of the 86's... never has been my choice of livery (always banger blue for me ) but nevertheless a superb job and they will look great once working on the layout. Looking forward to more updates.. as always. Cheers Lee
  14. Hi Peter, Which locos will the 20's be? BR blue?????? Cheers Lee
  15. It always baffles me how you know which chair goes where!! Absolutely superb work though, I love reading this thread and watching your work. Cheers Lee
  16. Awaiting a delivery from JLTRT :)

  17. Hi David, Some awesome photos... as always. I think you have a typo on C5697 as it looks more like 40055... no headcode box. Cheers Lee
  18. Hi Paul, Your latest installment of finished track looks outstanding. You must be pleased after all the hard work you have put into it. I see that you are also building the straight sections of track too and I wonder if you could advise me on the relative cost of this as opposed to buying RTR C & L track work for example. Is it cheaper building your own having bought the sleepers, rail and chairs etc? Cheers Lee
  19. Hi Peter, Thank you - I'm looking forward to getting started again tbh. The loco will be 40118 and I intend to try to continue on the thread I started previously by building another, but with refinements from lessons learned from the first build. Yes a catch up would be great. I can do ELR or Bo'ness... especially as 106 is there too!! Failing that there's always 37175 (my favorite tractor) Cheers Lee
  20. Yep, definitely 20's This is coming on leaps and bounds now. I particularly like the photo showing the view from the rear of roads 1 to 4 looking towards the front of the shed. It shows off the hard work you have put in and additionally a nice array of parked locos. Looking forward to further developments... especially the building exterior cladding Cheers Lee
  21. Hi Peter, Yes, I agree Brian's thread is a real inspiration tbh, so much that I have just placed my order for a JLTRT 20 & 40. I told you I would finish that thread I regretted selling my JLTRT 40 before, so now it's time to get it finished... along with a 20 which I shall start first I will keep an eye open for any galas or running days then and pass on the gen as soon as - we may even get to meet! Keep up the good work on Llanbourne and in particular the great pics Cheers Lee
  22. Hi Peter, Ahhhhh... you guessed Thanks for the gen on 045 and 085. I have just seen a picture taken by Brian Daniels on Flickr of 085 and it shows a hole in the buffer beam between the coupling and MU cable. There are some nice photos of 085 online in a very shoddy state..... quite appealing Interestingly, neither 045 or 085 carried the scotty dog emblem. How odd!!! Cheers Lee

  24. Nooooooo I shall create a thread once I get going.... and I've also promised myself that I will finish another thread too I really do need to find a pic of one of the ED steam heat fitted 20's though.... hopefully someone will read your thread and may be able to help When are you next over in blighty and able to sample some EE traction? Cheers Lee
