  1. It's a P4 model, it's naturally wider! Mike.
  2. https://wildswanbooks.co.uk/Books/Coal-Wagon-4mm.htm Mike.
  3. Measure twice, cut once!! Mike.
  4. 'To keep it topical they'll probably have Frankie Burgervan or whatever his name is as the lead character! Mike.
  5. If that's "playworn" I'd love to see what he considers knackered! Mike.
  6. The other great advantage of the original Airfix kits is that they cost less than the soapy flash infested Dapol version, £1 upwards from exhibitions! Mike.
  7. I'm finding bendy 3d syndrome is a widespread issue, both in rolling stock and architectural items, it's put me right off street lamps for starters. Mike.
  8. Yes, it's good Steve is sticking to the task! Mike.
  9. Apologies for not wading through the whole thread again, but is there a pipe receptacle missing from the underframe at the end of the van? Mike.
  10. Replacement MW socket connector thingy? Mike.
  11. I will have no part of that sort of stupidity! The satisfaction of throwing them out knowing I've upset someone is sufficient for me! Mike.
  12. 90% proof and decanted through a coffee filter into a Kilner jar afterwards. Mike.
  13. Bear in mind the real thing didn't weather itself in 20 minutes, it took years! Mike.
  14. Oh heck, is this the slippery slope to sandals and quinoa? Mine are going in the bin! Mike.
  15. Avert your gaze those of you of a nervous disposition, I use 90% proof IPA in my ultrasonic cleaner, when warmed up it shifts most things that the soak in cold IPA in a spaghetti Kilner jar (as above) doesn't, also very good for cleaning up etched kits as you go along soldering. Mike.
  16. I use the outers, with the plastic bits junked, as roundtuit/ongoing project storage boxes, very kind of them to provide different sized boxes! Mike.
  17. Start at the very beginning, get some scrap etch or some brass of some variety and get the feel of how to "stick" things together with an iron. Mike.
  18. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/193879913093? Are you aware of these and the associated separately available links? Mike.
  19. Talking of older models, I still reckon you'd have to go a long way to beat John Philips' upgrading of the venerable Triang Brush 2, in, if memory serves, a 1970's MRC. Mike.
  20. I use various manufacturers olive drab/khaki/camouflage from their military ranges, there are a fair few to go at. Mike.
  21. "Mistry previously pleaded guilty to two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and one count of causing grievous bodily harm with intent in December last year, before being sentenced to four years and 10 months in prison at Aylesbury Crown Court, last week. He was also disqualified from driving for four years and 10 months and will need to take an extended re-test before getting his licence back." Other than the blindingly obvious fact that he won't be able to drive whilst in prison, It's hardly a severe motoring penalty, a life ban for somebody psychologically incapable of driving with a sensible thought plan would be more relevant. Mike.
  22. Haven't BR and it's inheritants got the patents and copyrights on what we model, shouldn't we all be applying to them?!! Especially when you consider the licencing hoops the manufacturers have to jump through to copy a livery. Mike.
  23. Yer big softy!!! Wait until you've bent them up from brass wire and then fitted them to a Parkside kit!! Mike.
