Nice one! Just hanging around at Cardiff Central waiting for a train and Tangmere comes through light engine! Steam, smoke, smell, general looks of delight everywhere.

According to my calendar there's an 8F named Gauge O' Guild. Must be a proud reminder of the O' Guild clan.

Dealing with the great British tradesperson. Missed appointments, failed promises to provide quotes, contact numbers that ring dead... why is it so hard to stick to an arranged meeting, deliver on a commitment, etc? Grrr!
-
Went to see The Fall last night and spotted anothr Cardiff-area railway modeller person in the audience. Rock and roll!
-
Pleased to flick through an old MRJ from 1988 and find a letter from ur own Stationmaster...
-
Checking bank statements ... anyone would think I only spent money on trains and whisky.

Watching a nature documentary about Hornbills. Apparently the lack of covert feathers on their wings means they make the sound of a "locomotive" when flying. Cut down on sound decoder costs - install a Hornbill!
-
Came back from Trainwest with a SE Finecast 61XX Prairie kit - also have a Comet Prairie chassis to build so will do the two of them in a batch as a comparison.
-
Went to harvest some spare parts from a loco I thought was a gonner, and the blinking thing's come back to life after being in a cupboard for a year! It's a miracle!
-
In Holland, pleased to see that there are still Plan V units in use - I thought they'd all gone.
-
Built my first set of valve gear.
-
Tidying up my workbench and kidding myself that this time I'll never, ever allow it to get as untidy again.
-
I won't say today was my most frustrating day of modelling ever, but it's definitely in the top one.
-
Soldering a gearbox while listening to Kasabian. Worse ways to spend an evening.
-
Right, who's pinched my Microsol.
-
Had a lesson in how to drill and tap ... feel like a proper modeller now.
-
A Revell 1/48th scale PV-1 Ventura from Works for ten quid? That'll do nicely, thanks.
-
I've lost a couple of banana vans. If everyone could have a look down the back of the sofa, that would be great. TIA
-
Enjoying the pics and words on Bacup in the current BRM - what a cracking layout, so well executed.
-
A fun evening gluing back together split Bachmann axle spacers. Someone could make a killing doing these as spares in a more resilient plastic.

Top tip for hillwalkers: when setting out for an arduous day in Snowdonia, make sure that you aren't carrying lots of model railway bits in a pouch of your backpack.
