I wasn't referring to the point, your honour - I was merely alluding to the bread-based snack I'd inadvertantly allowed to sit for too long.

I'll get my coat / snorkel jacket

  7. Why is that any RMWeb thread on a CERTAIN TOPIC always ends up with the same three or four indivisduals having an endless pointless (geddit) slanging match?

I'm struggling to get enough heat into the brass at the mo - these are big bits compared to a loco chassis.

Like the muppet that I am, I left a package with them at Warley, meaning to collect it on the way out. They couldn't have been more helpful.

  13. Went for a run, painted the floor, emptied the dishwasher and built a Parkside kit. Not bad for a saturday afternoon.

Sounds good. One of those jobs that are so easy to put off.

  15. Back from a couple of days in Switzerland via the Basel tennis tournament - saw Federer, Nadal, Gulbis etc ... and proper trains too, with engines on the front of them like in the olden days.

  16. RIP Andy Sperandeo of Model Railroader.

  17. A scrote has nicked stuff from our neighbour's garden... and now we've noticed stuff missing from ours. Makes me think a garden railway may not be such a great idea after all.

Nahh green concrete as far as the eye can see.

  18. Trying to make sense of the "instructions" for a "kit". Sub-literate, sub-grammatical, borderline comprehensible at best ... and steadfastly not telling us anything we couldn't have worked out for ourselves, yet at the same time not telling us crucial stuff! Grr!

Trouble is, the first diagram you get tells you how to phone IKEA.

I don't wish to sound ungrateful, guys, but I think I might have managed to work that one out for myself!

  20. Grrr! The CD player that plays my dawn chorus CD is on the blink - it's only ever played that one CD and I doubt it's had more than ten hours of operation in three years. Grrr again!

  21. The six-monthly tidy-up of the train room. How is it possible for one modeller to accumulate so much cr*p?
