Just because it is a really good model of something doesn't mean that I have to buy it.

What kind of idiot volunteers to decorate the main bedroom when his wife is going away for the weekend?
Don't need any responses, I can see him in the mirror right now.
Knackered !

Hi , just saying "Hi" as I felt like it needed saying on here. Have a good evening.

I found nearly 40 railway books I had forgotten I owned this afternoon.

I should be checking out of Hotel Treliske next Tuesday after 6 weeks of care by the NHS. Can't wait to get back to my home bed, but will miss the wonderful staff for whom I will be eternally grateful

Yesterday I bought a lovely book by Adrian Vaughan...

I can't believe there ae still Covid deniers posting on SM and not getting deleted. How can people deny something that has been going on for almost two years?
-
It only goes to show that any idea of 'relying on the common sense of the people' is a total waste of time - such sense is in very short supply it appears. Interesting press reports - if they''re true - of a chap of 34 who has just died of Covid saying he wished he'd had the vaccine but he thought it was a waste of time for younger people . Trouble is folk don't want to listen and think it only affects 'old people' - which definitely wasn't the case when my daughter was working on a high dependency Covid ward earlier this year (and i understand there's currently a 16 year old in a poorly state with covid in hospital in Oxford).

Am I grumpy because a) I've had a busy week, b) it's hot or c) there's some proper door handles here?
-
judging by one recent thread in particular I can quite see why our leader is grumpy. The level of idiocy on this forum occasionally beggars belief. And yes Stu - those of us well inland and remote from the sea breezes, even the last little whispers of them - are distinctly hot and my spies informed me earlier this week that Cornwall is definitely cooler. So later today I am despatching my own investigator - at his own expense of course - to report back on a comparative basis.

Call yourself an astronaut?
Sit in a seat, get blasted 66 miles into the sky and come straight back down and the most you've got to do is unbuckle your harness, swim about, whoop and then rebuckle yourself in.
And he then gets to call himself an astronaut which is an insult to all those people who trained for years and went up strapped to a Nasa or Soyuz craft.
It's Disney for the very rich.

apologies for my many typos at the moment.. the damp weather has affected my finger joints plus pudgy fingers plus phone/tablet keyboards are a recipe for misspelling

I do feel for those who are unhappy at the result of the football last night, but one of the benefits of being utterly indifferent to all sporting events is that one just doesn't mind.
The last time I got upset about a sporting result was in 1981, when an insolent, impertinent young upstart had the cheek to upset the established order and defeated the Master of the game.

Hi Fran, please remind me... when do we announce that the Haulmark coach wasn't really an April Fool's joke?

Sorry for the outage since 02.00. Seemingly the server decided to have a restart as it hadn't had one for so long. It then takes it 9 hours to check the files. Great.

I wish to officially congratulate the milk in my fridge for lasting longer than the European Super League.

Am I the only one not watching #LineOfDuty #neverseen

I watch very few tv programmes that have been made in the past 15 years or so. Best drama that is currently on is 'Elizabeth R' - you can actually see what is happening and the dialogue consists of complete sentences or several sentences that make sense and tell a story. And this is opnly the second time it has been repeated since it was first broadcast - in 1971. They don't make 'em like they used to.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but to save me going to the top of the page, can anyone tell me if this is RMweb?
