  1. Has anyone ever managed to reassemble a Heljan Class 33 without swearing loudly and losing bits of glazing into the carpet never to be seen again?!?

  2. I've just seen the first Christmas advert on the TV - ITS SEPTEMBER FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!! My grumpiness/humbug level just trebled and now I am in a really bad mood...

  5. Last ever NOTW's are on Ebay at inflated 'Rare collectable' prices already!!! You couldn't make it up, unlike many of the NOTW's stories over the years...

  6. I am going to give up on Ebay, it seems to be crammed with morons with more money than sense...

Gave up using it 5/6 years ago. A look recently seemed to indicate that it's become an outlet for commercial dealers. Wasn't impressed!

  7. The Gatwick Express Class 73 is here! Pity Hornby cocked up badly with livery errors... :-(

Which loco did they choose -is it Royal Observer Corps? (Cruelly renamed & renumbered by SWT but now in Southern's hands!)

  8. According to my Hornby Magazine calendar, today is Mothers Day. Could have sworn that was last month...

  9. Where are all my bits to reassemble my Hornby Class 56? You would have thought the obvious place to look first was the little plastic box marked 'Hornby Cl56 Parts' wouldn't you?!?

  15. The list is up, the wallet is screaming for mercy and somewhere down in the west country someone is head butting their desk in disbelief I reckon....

But looking at the 'you were out' card, it's dated Saturday but they definitely called on Sunday!!

    3. Fairburn

      Fairburn

Same with me a few weeks back. Ordered an Arriva Northern 153 from Signal Box and a Northern Rail 153 from Hattons - nowt for 2 weeks and then a knock on the door on a Sunday with one parcel. As I was unwrapping the stringed parcel, she knocked again with the second she'd, '...found in the van'? They've started to contract out by me, don't knock at the neighbours, card thru' the door. Last week I got one with no address on! Confused the life out of the lad on the d...

  19. Pulling lots of steam locos out of storage that have been sitting in boxes for eighteen months!!

  20. Looks like I might have to get to work on the scenic parts of the layout, I may be getting visitors!!

      Mattmaz

There's nothing quite like the threat of visitors to speed up layout progress :-)

  21. Looks like my faithful old netbook is about to be pining for the fjords...

  22. One day of festive hell down, one more still to go. The sooner we run trains on Christmas Day and Boxing Day so I can avoid the 'festive' horror the better!!

I'd rather be out photographing your trains (mind you they'd have to come a bit further North, but any trains would do me)

  23. Here we go, eyes down for a full house...

  24. T-30 Minutes and Counting untl Hornby Day!!!

  25. Bent down to pick something up and my head hit the workbench, realised ten minutes later I have a streak of NSE red paint in my hair!!!

Don't you know you should do the white first so it does not show the red underneath?
