It may be funny...but HMS Bluebell did exist...

More on the Flower Class...

The Flower class Corvette is available as a 1/72 scale plastic kit from Revell. It was originally produced by Matchbox many years ago but is still available.

Check out the "Culture" novels by the late (great) Iain C Banks - the AI 'minds' of his (space) ships give themselves obtuse, oblique or downright crazy names to themselves as a kind of AI in-joke! The one that immediately springs to mind is Culture Fast Packet Ship Suicidal Intent ... how's that for an impressive name to inspire the crew?!

OT aside forgiven, those books are awesome.

Can anyone shed any light on what this guy is selling??

Seemingly lots of 'unused' Heljan O gauge although I'm not sure what a 'Class 200 49' is exactly, or a 'Class 200 54' etc etc.

I have asked, twice , but I get no answer!!

Seems a strange way to conduct business!

Surely it's just placeholders from a free listing weekend to be updated (or not) in the fullness of time

An old RNA oppo of mine served on HMS Gentian (K90) on the Atlantic convoys. He built his model from scratch to about 1/72 well before Matchbox got around to it....

So I've been offered 10% off :D

I'd only pay about 1% for it.....!!

Box full of junk for £77.  The photo might be useful for a memory game (i.e. what things were in the box now you can’t see the photo) but that’s it.

More crap from Rocket Railways - the specialists in that medium.

Dammit. I just threw away about a dozen old Triang clerestory bogies and a very dodgy homemade wiring loom off a 1938 Matchless.

You could have had that lot for £50 and I would throw in a free cardboard box.

Bargain by comparison!

Our friend Gostude has reached a feedback of 40,000 so some people must be happy with him. ;)

A lot of his stuff is grossly overpriced but bearing in mind his prices include postage he is sometimes cheapest on eBay for run of the mill Hornby wagons and other items.   Also he always provides good quality packaging, very often brand new postpak boxes, and foam pellet filler, all of which will come in handy again when selling on eBay.

But they are all 'Kit built', he needs to describe stuff honestly.

To be fair, using the phrase kit built, however disingenuously, means that his items get more hits.

Otherwise they would get subsumed amongst all the other clapped out ex trainset dross on eBay. Where, if you have the time, patience or plain good fortune, there are some real gems still to be found.

I also forgot to mention that if he stopped using that phrase, we will need to find someone else to give us a cheap laugh...

A Kitbuilt item is a subject built from a Kit.

Not an RTR item with a few detailing parts on! A RTR item is not Kitbuilt, whatever you say.

Words Modified, Detailed, Super-detailed or Altered, would be a lot more honest.
