Completely forgot to take any WIP pics while doing 144007 ! :fool:

Painted the seat-backs, grab handles, & fire extinguishers inside.

Painted the roof.

Added people.

Weathered it.

Pics with a boxfresh 144012 for comparison.

Cheers,

Phil.

As my Dad says, "You've only stuck the plates on it".

Not to mention the bufferbeam pipework, communication cable on one end, repainted Yellow ends, replacement electric flashes, and weathering it so its dirty enough to look clean......

........as well as the 4-piece nameplates !!!    :banghead:

Cheers,

Phil.

Yeah, it's 'Roof Dirt' colour in the airbrush, quite a thin mix (same as what I used on the roof of this loco) , air pressure approx. 15psi (maybe a bit less).

The tip of the gun was no more than half an inch from the buffer, and with the air constantly flowing, just very gently go on-off-on-off.......with the paint, letting the air 'dry' the paint each time to build up the density.

Depending what happens to be in the airbrush, I've used 'roof dirt', 'matt black' & 'gloss black', to do the same thing.

In fact, this loco had a final touch of 'matt black' over the 'roof dirt' on the buffers, when I used it to add the soot around the exhaust.

HTH

Cheers,

Phil.

Spot on Phil. I see the driver is giving it some stick on the throttle (as you do) but you miniature shunter needs to clip the pipes on to securing chains! And hang the shackle up.... I would of sent him back down to finish job off ...

grease splats on buffer heads look good....ready to smear all over your clean smock!

Cracking work. G

When was the last time you used buffers to couple up?

All you do is press a button...................

The tip of your finger gets a bit dirty....and I have to place cup of tea in the correct cup holder...

Still nice to squeeze up to greased buffers....funny I'm 50 meters from bubbles at Derby! Time to couple up!

How have I not seen this workbench thread before?!?!

Oh how I could do with your skills Phil - the DRS coaches look very factory, and some of the Hornby Exec livery coaches have the extra step on them now (which I didn't realise when i bought the blue / grey ones).

I'd better subscribe!

You can borrow the DRS coaches if you let me give my Hoovers a run on your layout !!  :locomotive:

So this has been sitting on a shelf above my workbench since March 2016, so I thought I better get around to finishing it !!  :O

Got the transfers from Railtec, including the 'Total Lubricants' stickers that 60002 carries.

Cheers,

Phil.

Phil

Where did you get the door lock lights from, and the data panels for the coach ends?

Cheers

Mike

The door lock lights (& the emergency door handles) are from Hurst Models.

Can't remember for sure, but after a quick look through my random box of transfers, I think the data panels were cut off the 'C3' transfers on the Fox sheet F4213/10.

HTH.

Phil.

The body is now all stickered up and in the airing cupboard after a coat of varnish, so I thought I'd paint the internal details to best match what I can make out in my pics.

Cheers,

Phil.

Another couple of easy wins.

Just a bit of detail painting, and adding the metalwork.

I even hung the shackles up for BradfordBuffer !

Cheers,

Phil.

Revisiting an old project next.

Had these since they were first released, and thought it was time to bring them a bit more up to date.

Cheers,

Phil.
