Being as you live in south Wales, I'm surprised you haven't investigated the possibility of a line in the Vale of Glamorgan.

Ewenny springs to mind!

Not sure why H but local railways have never really inspired. The exception to this is the industrial side of things. A dabble with a colliery is still on the cards. However any other railway stuff will be West Country based.

I did consider Mid - Wales but no, West Country it is.

Hi Rob, got a question about point operation using the lack boards. I remember you using some caboose (I think) switches, how have you got on with them and how do you change polarity? I'm asking as I'm thinking about ways of point operation for a layout using a lack shelf.

Steve.

Evening Steve. I still have them but haven't used them as of yet. They simply change the point blades over.  The polarity is dealt with by the points as usual.

An alternative is surface mounted wire in tube type thingy.

You can get Caboose ground throws with built-in switches.

The freebies get weirder and weirder.

Congratulations! :)

The freebies are all Model Rail's as you don't get paid for a layout article.:(

Didn't realise that, do you get the images from the photographer for your own use? Might be worthwhile if it's Mr Nevard's or Mr York.

I remember some 'grumblage' last year from 2manyspams about BRM's rates. ...

I can confirm this. No payment and my good lady who was very proud, treated me to a copy of the mag.
