Shops under 280m² are allowed to open but may choose not to.

As York will be rammed with visitors all weekend I suspect that virtually all shops that can open on any day will do so...

And in any case there's plenty of other things to do!

HI All

To answer the question Saturdays the busiest day  followed by Monday i would say .

As for England's Sunday shopping laws you need to come out the dark ages .

So, if I were to arrive by balloon would my parking be free?

I have ordered Early Bird Tickets via Eventbrite but when I try to print them I keep getting a Code 403 error. What am I doing wrong?

Do any experts know and if so can you help Scottiedog please.. I've only printed tickets once and had no problem. They should be scannable by our door stewards from a mobile phone when you arrive.

Looking forward to the weekend with Sandford & Banwell (P4).

We believe we are up on the second floor - come and say hi.

Just received confirmation that for Saturday visitors bus Service 21 will run as normal and is a travel option. Website updated.

The 197 to/from the station is running all three days. Note time of last bus to the show is 3pm, last bus back to the station is just after the show closes.

The rail and travel page is here.

Setting off tomorrow with Colin Taylor in a big van to fetch the Leeds and Normanton club barriers; none from Warley this year as they don't have a van driver under 70. It's a familiar case; luckily, we can field two-Fred Ellis and the new floor manager, Colin Taylor. What a 'find' he was last year....turned up on Thursday to help for a day and stayed until Monday! He harks back to the Assembly Rooms in the 1970s, one of Bernard Richmond's Barrier crew. Here he is 45 years later.....going to fetch the barriers!

For our regulars-we are using gate 5 to enter the yard this year. I have asked for help from Constant Security for extra help marshalling vans/cars etc.

If you're setting up on Saturday morning, get here BEFORE 9:30am...we don't want cars milling around with the queue of visitors in the same place!

Welcome our new demonstrators: Brian Davis with wagon loads (his wife Susan will be helping the show!) and Thomas Petith with 3D printing.

New traders: Model Signs, MMR models and the return of PowerBond adhesives/Graham the Glue man.

We will be setting up the memorial stand to Ken Gibbons, Roger Ellis, John Ross and Colin McCallum, who by coincidence is on Steve Flint's video promoting the show.

Ah, and Rupert Brown has organised a rolling video to run on the plasma screens in the upper floor bars!

For our visitors:- I'm fetching the keys for the gates onto the Knavesmire for the overflow car park (it will be needed on Saturday!) Google Images attached.

Me? Edgy, nervous, same as before. If you see me during the show, please make reassuring noises; I'll be wandering around gibbering to myself!

A quick check tonight and Deadmans Lane is almost ready to roll. The "logistics plan" for the team from five different locations has been finalised.

Just a couple of bits of stock to finish a couple of details and packing and then we're good to load up on Friday morning.

As DL pretty much only gets fully  assembled for exhibitions, we're looking forward to playing trains for three days.

Quick update regarding on-line tickets and door entry.

Pre-paid at discount through to Good Friday.

Pre-paid through the show period still available but at door prices.

On the door can be cash or card.

Show Guides at the door. Step stool hire (Cash only) will be in the entrance foyer. This has to be cash as there is a returnable deposit.

Added the note about cash for step stools.

How likely is Sunday's car boot fair to cause issues parking?

Steven B

It won't, it is Saturday. We have the alternative car park set up for Saturday. See https://yorkshow.org.uk/car/  for full parking details.

The correct SatNav setting  for Saturday is the junction of Knavesmire Rd & Knavesmire Ave.

If anyone uses what three words =  https://w3w.co/films.brain.much

A reminder for the less than fully mobile, but non-blue badge holders, arriving by car the Saturday walk to the show entrance is longer than that on Sunday & Monday.

In which case, York Race Course calendar is wrong as it says Sunday 31st.

The Car boot organiser's site says it's on Saturday (https://www.yorkcarboot.com/)

The Park Run may take some on street spaces for very early arrivals as they start at 9am. It is on our car arrivals page. https://yorkshow.org.uk/car/

Apparently, the bootie is cancelled for Saturday. Reason given being poor ground conditions. If it’s a swamp then it probably doesn’t help with the parking.

You beat me to it on here. Yes website now updated.

URGENT UPDATE - Saturday parking is now on the coach park as described on our website for Sunday & Monday. Reason - the car boot sale has been cancelled.

Please watch out for the park runners if arriving early on Saturday.
