RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted January 20, 2022 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted January 20, 2022 I'm a bit bored, as I can't do a lot of things I would like to do for a few more days yet, as ordered by nursey this morning. I have a novel to read, but it is hardback, and has over 900 pages, and weighs quite a bit, so gets a bit tiring to hold for long periods. So, here is another picture. and just so you can see the trouble I go to, here is what it looked like when the camera first saw it. and if anyone says they prefer the second one, I may get quite cross. 27 3

Hi Gilbert, that must have taken some time photoshopping! Hang on in there. Hope you recover quickly from the procedure and you can really choose what to spend your time on once more. We are awaiting the reappearance of 60700 with bated breath! 2
RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted January 20, 2022 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted January 20, 2022 It's the slow line for this Craigentinny to Wood Green Class C, as passengers are still boarding the KX slow on the only other Up line. Just managed to hide the end of the bridge for once.

RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted January 21, 2022 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted January 21, 2022 There is also activity down at the south end, as Mons Meg backs onto its stock, and our lovely fully valanced D16 brings in the East shuttle. The Class C won't be getting the road just yet.

I didn't crop this much, as it shows the massive bulk of the bridge well, and how Peter Leyland captured it. In other news, this afternoon I went to have a small mole removed from my face. Unfortunately the surgeon wasn't happy with it, or another small one that had appeared close to it, so it finished up being a bigger job than I had expected. I now have what he described as a deep graze, which can't be stitched, so it is dressings to be changed three times a week for a while, by which time we should have biopsy results as well, and the nurse has warned me I may not get much sleep tonight. Never mind, it is what it is, and I shall deal with things as they become clearer. I would like you all to know that a member of this forum volunteered to drive over 60 miles to be with me today, took me to the surgery, waited an hour and a half, brought me home, and organised everything for me, as I mustn't bend down for 24 hours. Among his several occupations he was in the past a nurse, and his knowledge and gentle support have been a great comfort to an old chap with an anxiety disorder. Would you all please give a round of applause for Clive Mortimore. I could not ask for a better or more considerate friend. Respect and love to Clive. Get well soon. Love and Hugs from me. RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted January 21, 2022 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted January 21, 2022 The D16 has precedence, and the A2 must carry on waiting.
RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted January 22, 2022 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted January 22, 2022 To complete this series of movements, here is Mons Meg, attached to train and ready to roll. The only question now is which variant of A2 will be given the road first. Mons Meg has Class A lamps, but the service is really a stopping one.
RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted January 22, 2022 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted January 22, 2022 Mons Meg may have been ready to roll, but Dante got the road first. It will be crossing back to the Up very shortly, and will not be relegated to the slow line.
RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted January 23, 2022 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted January 23, 2022 It seems that Mons Meg was not ready to roll, as the next WD hauled load of coal is sent along the slow again. There must be something I can do to hide the end of that bridge. I will give it further consideration.
RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted January 23, 2022 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted January 23, 2022 If we swing around, and point the camera hopefully into the sun, which shouldn't be here in the morning anyway, we get this. I'm not sure it was worth the trouble. 18
RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted January 24, 2022 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted January 24, 2022 In the short interval between the Class C and the Class H, this glorious sight was revealed, and of course had to be photographed. 36

RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted January 25, 2022 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted January 25, 2022 With Mons Meg finally on her way, the Little Barford coal can come through. Today's borrowed loco is a Retford 04/8. 30

What is the provenance of your model? (Mine is Bachmann O4 with old Replica B1 boiler and part of the cab.) RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted January 25, 2022 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted January 25, 2022 Time for the Elizabethan. Top shed engine heading North this morning, and passing a B17 which is reversing into the bay, ready to take over the Birmingham-Ely.
RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted January 26, 2022 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted January 26, 2022 You'd think that all cameras would now be trained on the Elizabethan, wouldn't you? But no, someone would rather use expensive film to record a DMU, burbling away under the roof, having just arrived from Louth.
