For anyone into budget DCC, Sprog DCC are selling a few fully refurbished/tested/guaranteed SPROG II (2) programmer/booster customer returns for £15 (free P&P) on their eBay page below (as opposed to the normal selling price of £45). I've already nabbed one meself! :-)

I bought mine from them about two years ago & have been very happy with it.

I did a lot of research before buying & settled on this company.

They are official Hakko stockists & have all the spares etc in stock.

If you can buy this model cheaper elsewhere then I would suggest that its a copy so beware.

Batterfly.com seem to have the one postage cost so make sure to get any extra bits etc at the same time.

I guess that will include model train books just in case it's considered too wide a post.

Unfortunately in my experience WHSmith's book stock seems to vary wildly between branches from reasonably decent to sparse in certain subject areas and that is before we deal with the problem of their haphazard filing system on the shelves.

Prices I see on the DCC Concepts site show ex-VAT. That may be due to my location, but VAT in (after making the calculation) brings them up to the prices on the GM site.

Dapol factory shop are selling off some of there seconds / reworks

Class 73's £90 each fully reworked and are in good working order.

OO gauge and N gauge signals £2.50 each with a mechanical problem but LED still works.

The Oxfam bookshop in Eastleigh is closing and has a half-price sale on all books. A while back they acquired a collection of books and booklets on light, narrow gauge and industrial railways (some quite obscure), including some on modelling, plus some back issues of the IRS and NGRS magazines and a lot of these are still in stock. Some were priced quite high but are now more affordable. They are well worth a look if you're within reach. The shop is in High Street, just down from AC Models and a short walk from the station.

4 litre (A4 size) 3 for £10 - great for 5 locos/coaches

9 litre (A4 size) 3 for £14 - as above, but two layers

and 18 litre at 3 for £20 - for buildings or other layout stuff, such as extension cables

 

Doesn't look like an online offer.

but did manage to purchase a Hornby factory building for just over £7 and a Stratford Upon Avon open top bus split for the Shakespeare Express set for just over £5

Did your open-top Stratford-upon-Avon bus have a waterfall coming down the stairs? On a day-trip there, we were the only people on the bus. We huddled downstairs, with the guide giving us the commentary sitting on the seat next to us. Although that wasn't easy looking out through rain soaked windows.

Popped into our local branch of The Range (Chatham Dockyard Outlet) where they are selling A1 sheets of 5mm foamboard for £3.99 a sheet, but with an offer of four sheets for £10.When you consider that their A2 sheets are £7.99 each, this is a pretty decent deal!

Almost a month later and this deal still seems to be on.
