MarkC
That makes sense. Why build two bridges and additional sets of "upper stairs" when they are not necessary. Because the builder could?
RMweb Gold Tim Hall Posted February 8, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 8, 2018 Surely it's a Class 14 not 124? I can bearly believe that.
TheGunslinger
Makes sense... Upper class use the top, lower classes below. Seriously though, is there a way this may occur ?, for example a station high above a track, having a road entrance above where passengers cross a corridor to chose their platforms, but for for those changing trains, it saves them climbing all the way to the top ? The closest example that springs to mind is several of the "busway" stations in Brisbane. It's a signature look to have the footbridge, even if it's immediately adjacent to an overpass with a perfectly good footpath (just to make it extra dumb the footbridge is almost always level with the street). https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-27.4969417,153.03961,32a,35y,182.51h,51.37t/data=!3m1!1e3 If the footbridges weren't built level with the upper street, you'd end up with a stairs->footbridge->stairs->street setup similar to the Ebay listing. What breaks it though is I think there's at least one example just like that, and they only built one staircase for the upper level, much like Five Ways. NickL2008
Something about this DMU doesn't look right to me - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LILIPUT-MODELS-No1055-10562-BR-CL124-TRANS-PENNINE-DRIVING-DMUS-SET-MIB/302623270070 The DMU is out of office, so its replacement was drafted in! nerron
Is this an indication of a very imperfect market? http://offer.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBids&item=162887088655&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2565 The same package can be purchased from Lychett Manor Models for 68.50GBP! RMweb Premium Neil Posted February 11, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 11, 2018 I may have unknowingly slipped into some sort of parallel universe which broadly looks the sme but where some aspects are way out of kilter. centraltrains
One feels that the price being asked for this item is slightly optimistic. crazy ebay.jpeg but at least you get free postage. Minimum wage going up, not forgetting their pension contributions.... It's a lot of staff you have to pay... Perhaps a bargain considering they will work for many many years! For some strange reason this one hasn't sold yet. It can be yours for a mere £20.00. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AIRFIX-MODEL-No-R201-B-R-RAILBUS-CONSTRUCTION-KIT-BUILT/401457948951?epid=1407994125&hash=item5d78c22917:m:mBeqEvbcHbtGxcF96DKgwvg Perhaps someone here should buy it and make it the eBay Madness mascot
