RMweb Gold westerhamstation Posted July 14, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 14, 2014 Hi Al, that's a lovely job you are making of the seats, I will weather your vans if you will reupholster my three piece suite. all the best Adrian
RMweb Gold Alister_G Posted July 14, 2014 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted July 14, 2014 The photos above were taken in artificial light and are therefore a bit orange. Those below however were taken in daylight, and give a better idea of reality. I've also added the complete set of seats now. Adrian, what scale is your three-piece suite?
RMweb Gold Alister_G Posted July 16, 2014 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted July 16, 2014 Another update. All the seats, cushions and internal partitions are now complete, and I have tested the interior in the coach. Next job, the tables, and then detailing the exterior. Thanks for looking, Al.

RMweb Gold Alister_G Posted July 17, 2014 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted July 17, 2014 Thanks all of you, for your comments, they're much appreciated. Another quick update, all the tables are assembled, they just need filing and painting, then fixing in position. More tomorrow, Al.
MikeHemmings
Those tables look great well done.
Jaz
one or two of the pictures show a gap between the cushions....i would be tempted to dribble some thinned paint along the gaps to cover them up. But otherwise......working it all out cutting it and fitting....magnificent piece of design and execution...and the fusions look good too. am expecting once in the coach this will look the dogs do dahs....consider 0H figures for sitting they often look better. RMweb Gold ChrisN Posted July 17, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 17, 2014 Magnificent! I am semi retired and I still do not get as much done as you. As these are restaurant cars you may want one of these. The figures are mainly Edwardian but he will probably do, unless he is to tall of course, some of the MRD figures can be, but not all.
RMweb Premium Sasquatch Posted July 17, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 17, 2014 Harry Potter & The Half Blood Prince was on the tele the other day. There's some great filming of the inside of one of these coaches! When the tables are done try taking a picture looking down the center aisle. Bet that'll show it off a treat! Nice job mate well worth the time spent. Squatch.
RMweb Gold Alister_G Posted July 18, 2014 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted July 18, 2014 Well, It's finished. Final job was to paint the tables. First, I painted the undersides and supports in the Humbrol No.63 Matt Sand. Then, the table tops were painted in Humbrol No.20 Crimson Gloss. Here's a shot down the gangway: And here's some overview shots: Here's the coach interior back on the chassis and with the roof on: With the coach back together, here's a view of the interior through a window: and two exterior views: I'll be returning to scenery over the weekend. Classsix T
Nice work Al. Will you be populating the innards? Also, did you source some window decals, they make all the difference IMHO. C6T.

Joe MCMLXI
Great work Al! I'm just constantly amazed at the small details you keep creating..... great stuff! Being an x Bakewell person, I'm intrigued by the view through the coach..... taken from up Yeld Rd or up Stanedge Road at a guess! cheers Joe

RMweb Gold Alister_G Posted July 20, 2014 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted July 20, 2014 Just to wrap up the coaches, here's what the SO looks like along with the others, now they've been numbered, decalled and weathered... Back to doing scenery next, I think. Al.

Jock67B
Superb rake Al, I'm quite jealous as I can just visualise them behind a rebuilt scot on the Thames Clyde Express on the Nith valley line near Hurlford! Great work, look forward to the next episode, Kind regards, Jock.
Classsix T
Apologies Al, I subsequently noticed the window decals, forgetting the world and his missus were smokers back then the lack of a plethora of "cancer kites" means what you have applied are easily missed. I notice you've made one a composite, I might be able to assist you with increasing the Posh class carriages, I'll pm in the next few days, suffice to say I purchased a yellow cantrail striped coach on a whim not realising they were not introduced in my modelling time period, live and learn eh?
