I think it attracts a certain select clientele and I suspect the good humoured banter keeps many of us sane.

The whole world's gone mad except you and me, and I'm not so sure about you.

Went there on holiday once - nice food, nice narrow gauge railway, and the lady in the patisserie seemed to think that I came from Paris :scratchhead:

Damned expensive from memory but enjoyable none the less.

Tan tan terrah!

Nothing unusual and we have all been there, however I've not been anywhere near as much splodging for around 20 years.

That mesh stuff is the plasterer's tape I mentioned.

The hot gun worked a treat too. Big smiles.

Snap break and watching 53808 at the WSR.

Too posh really althougfh OK for 'special bits'. I was thinking of the paper roll type that is cheap and nasty. produced to 'absorb spillage' so I use it in my #####

Papier mache, yummy. Not used that since I were a nipper.  Will take a month to dry out unless I use my hairdryer........(long redundant for hair but good for when I actually paint any kits.

Looking great, although you seem to be proving it's 'scrim'* up north (and possibly in the SW as well)

Soft Southerner

*scrim being another term for plasterers tape

Oh yes, Scrim Tape. It was left over about 14 years ago when some bloke did some alterations to one of our rooms. Not very sticky any more but seems useful in places.

You deserve a drink after all that splodging. How about some lager and a packet of crisps?

That brings back childhood memories too.

My father bought me a piece of board to put my trainset on in my bedroom and in good old Blue Peter fashion I decided to make a hill using papier mache.

During the night I was awoken by a strange noise and looked over to the board whereupon I saw our cat eating the stuff !

Never used it again  :O

Damned expensive from memory but enjoyable none the less.

Not enough public lavatories in the place. I had to keep buying drinks in bars and cafes in order to use their facilities.

Self-fulfilling prophesy, if ever there was one.

Today, at least, CTMK and I went out for lunch and had a jolly good roast lunch in a decent public house.

I also became acquainted with the Rev. James.

A fine upstanding, or until you’ve met him several times, gentleman I believe! Edited by Clearwater

Due to having been in Basingstoke, this weekend, splitting my sides and crying with laughter watching a Brummie called Jasper Carrott and a few of his mates, with a few risque and politically incorrect jokes on has missed out on the other Basingstoke news.
