RMweb Gold Market65 Posted December 6, 2022 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 6, 2022 Good evening, David. That’s a fantastic set of replacement photo’s of Grantham from the early 1970’s. In C1465, with an unidentified class 47, on a down freightliner, in January, 1974, the weather conditions are poor, but the headcode box lights are still not as bright and white as on many models. The special coating of the windscreen can be clearly seen. The photo’s of Buston Barns, on the ECML in Northumberland, are a superb selection, and show how varied the trains working over the mainline have been. In the last photo’, of a class 90, on an up express, going away from the camera, on the 3rd August, 1995, substituting for a failed class 91, it is the perfect solution for those of us with a Hornby 91 that is not running as it should. With warmest regards, Rob.

RMweb Gold Popular Post DaveF Posted December 7, 2022 Author RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted December 7, 2022 This afternoon's photos are once again from the ECML in Northumberland, this time around Shilbottle Junction, south of Alnmouth. They are all from visits in March 1993. I had a look there recently and whilst I can find a place to park I have not yet found a view as it is very overgrown. RMweb Gold Market65 Posted December 7, 2022 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 7, 2022 Good evening, David. That’s an excellent set of replacement photo’s of Ravensthorpe, from August, 1967, and the first one, on enlarging the photo’, is of DMBS NE51426, a class 101/2, with Leyland engines, the DMCL, it is coupled to, on investigation, in all the books I have, should be 102/1, NE51496. The last photo’ of a class 37, and a brake tender, on a westbound goods train, is a superb view of the train with a good variety of wagons, vans and at least one tank wagon. The photo’s of Shilbottle Junction, on the ECML in Northumberland, from March, 1993, are a superb set, in the first photo’, is a delight, with Alnmouth visible behind what would appear to be a NE - SW HST, which has just the one TF. With warmest regards, Rob.

A junction or further track rationalisation? Haresfield is south of Gloucester where the Midland and the Great Western ran side by side. The Midland line was the one on the northern side. There was a junction between them a little further south, Standish Junction. I cannot remember exactly were I took the photos in relation to the site of Haresfield station which was on the Midland line. 7 minutes ago, corneliuslundie said: I'd never noticed the distinctive cab profile on the O2 before. Regards Ian Ian, I've sent a PM to Andy Y to see if he knows what it might be. I use Chrome and have no problems (yet). The black and white images are GIFs as JPEGs go red owing to some sort of software issue which Andy has referred to the software people. Sometimes images can take a while to appear, if that happens I leave the page open for a minute or so- GIFs give a larger file size than JPEGs so may take longer to load. RMweb Gold DaveF Posted December 8, 2022 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted December 8, 2022 Second experimental post Second Post I've now found out how to reduce the file size for GIFs - not an obvious task but I finally found the route in Photoshop. Are these visible to everyone? The hyphens sem to be a fetaure of GIFs when saving titled images. I've left them in so I know which images are which. My apolgies to those who are wondering what on earth I'm playing at but I have to use the same inages to make sure that eventually everyone sees all the images. RMweb Gold Market65 Posted December 8, 2022 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 8, 2022 Good evening, David. Firstly, of the experimental photo’s, the first ones are back in red, the second set are normal, and in black and white. I’m on my iPad, using the Ghostery browser. I hope that may be of some help in what is clearly an ongoing issue/s. Well, the replacement photo’s of Haresfield, from April 1972 and April 1973, are an excellent set. In C906, from April, 1972, that’s an interesting track machine. The black and white photo’s, of Grantham, which I can see are all of interest, with the first one of A3, 60055, Woolwinder, on an up express passenger train in c1953, being a lovely three quarter shot of the engine and train. With warmest regards, Rob.
