RMweb Gold DaveF Posted August 3, 2014 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted August 3, 2014 I cannot for the life of me see what is Indecipherable about Market65's post #604. It's a post I agree with wholeheartedly. Please keep these excellent photos coming David. This is a very enjoyable thread. Seeing the class 14s, did you by any remote chance every get down to the Western Region during the era of the hydraulics? I do have a very small number of photos of hydraulics which will appear in due course. No Class 14s on Western territory though. RMweb Gold DaveF Posted August 3, 2014 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted August 3, 2014 (edited) J1281, what was going on on the right of the photo? Redundant GN line to Huddersfield being torn up? Sorry, I haven't got a clue. These are Dad's photos, I wasn't there on the day. Having looked at some other photos he took they look like old telegraph poles. As far as I know there wasn't another line up there on the right. David Edited August 3, 2014 by DaveF

Still got it in 2010 at least http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/gallery/album/881-fairburn-2-6-4t-42085-detail-pics/ Interesting thought has it ever worn the new crest? I've been a little baffled myself, and can only think of my layout reference - I do have a Hattons/Heljan class 14 and a rake of Slaters kit-built NER 20T hopper wagons. All the best, Market65. pH
Interesting thought has it ever worn the new crest?Certainly not in BR service. It was withdrawn with the old emblem - https://www.flickr.com/photos/80572914@N06/7475357282/in/set-72157630154802550/lightbox/ Has it had the new emblem in preservation? Alcanman
Great to see your pics of South Newsham, Dave. I live nearby and can see the line from my house. I managed to dig up an old pic of Newsham in the last month of steam in the area. When ex LMR 4MTs started appearing on the Blyth & Tyne, I had hopes that steam would last longer. Sadly. I was wrong. eastwestdivide
photo C866 - was it usual to get 310 units to Manchester? By the time I started taking an interest (late 70s), they were rare north of Birmingham, and mostly confined to Euston services.
