You can see how little things have changed from these archive photos taken in the late eighties, early nineties.

If I ever get around to it then it would be this era I would model......need to get the British layouts done first though....

That's a relief, I thought the thread was going to end up getting changed to "Czech diversion"... ;)

Lovely.  Burnham - by then without a railway but still boasting most of its very long platform - was on my 'patch' in the late 1970s and I used to visit most weeks to deliver publicity material to a (then) very pro-rail tourist travel agency which did quite well in terms of ticket sales.  In fact it probably took more revenue than Burnham station had managed in fares in most weeks.

Why is the signal so tall ? Were there some sighting issues, or was it just a precaution against a heavy snowfall ?

God. that would be some snow drift, if it got that deep, running trains wouldn't be high on anybody's 'to-do' list.

Sighting requirement related to the footbridge, I'd think.

The Hornby coaches match. They are to diagram 340, same as the Hemyock coaches.

Many thanks to Ducky for opening his beak. Not only am I now modelling Western region steam, I am now buying Eastern coaches.

Flipping great.

That's not been legal since we joined the Common Market.

According to Brussels ultimatum 4,325....the application of said ointment to academicals is lawful if applied by a left handed blonde nurse.

I'm left-handed and married to a blonde nurse...

My understanding is that this is acceptable but only when the procedure is carried on the second Wednesday of the month.

Of course what we would like is one of these.

Now that would pitch the feline amongst the pigeons...

Come on Bachmann. It's the one big omission from the Midland locos....

Perhaps Santa will surprise you Rob ?

Don't think so, Brian...Christmas list popped up the chimney in November asked for an Adams Radial from Margate....

Might be some Bachmann PMVs though.
