  2. Excellent John.If it were mine,I'd go for 4407 in post war G W R Whose wheels did he recommend for it ,Ultrascales ?
  3. It will be the same as my Soughton Hall that's currently in bits.I'll ask on their stand for progress this weekend.
  4. Very nice Rob.What's he supposed to be reading ? I take it he's not a railway figure from the Dart range.
  5. Was you happy with how much your first ebay items sold for PP ? Very nice items I nearly bid myself.
  6. A nice book to have on the small prairies including the 44xx is this by Stiff & Dart http://www.transportstore.com/book.cfm/14446/1224/Great_Western_Small_Prairie_Tanks_STIFF_DG__DART_M Which number are you planning to do ?
  7. I've mentioned this book before but an impulse ebay purchase of another Bachmann 4575 prairie had me searching for another photo of 4582 to renumber my model. http://www.transportstore.com/book.cfm/14446/1224/Great_Western_Small_Prairie_Tanks_STIFF_DG__DART_M There's one in the Middleton Press Kingsbridge branch book but any other ideas welcome. https://www.middletonpress.co.uk/books/railways/branch-lines/branch-line-to-kingsbridge.html
  8. Are there any painting destructions with it or 'does anything go' livery wise Jules.Needs a driver though.
  9. John.Try this email for David.I think it will be more reliable than the website email address. david[at]davidgeen[dot]co[dot]uk Edit for spam prevention.
  10. I haven't but that looks a cracking looking model. Not for the faint hearted I should imagine.
  11. An impulse ebay purchase means I need some etched plates from 247 next weekend !

Ha! It's always that way round, isn't it?! I'm sure Gary at 247 would love it to start with an impulse buy from him, followed by a measured purchase from a local model shop!!

Hi Rob, what have you bought then?

Another loco for the Kingsbridge branch.I'm a sucker for them.I have the photo.

  12. Why are you going to build me the Mailcoach kit then ? No soldering needed on that beast. The GWR only made a handful of these and it would have been very lucky to have seen one running.A bit like the K38 Ocean Mails coach that everyone models. Edit.A bit of research.
  13. Never fancied one to be honest.More pressing needs in the coaching stock dept. I'll be posting my Comet Dean Goods assembled chassis in the classifieds over the weekend if anyone is interested.PM please. http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/classifieds/item/2984-comet-Dapol-great-western-dean-goods/ Advert added.

    EBay madness

I rather think he knew exactly what he was posting.
  15. Why do people go to a concert and then spend all night filming it on their mobiles.

I spend all day (and all night) filming trains... Basically the same thing, except with a bit less crime, drugs, underage sex, etc.

    Hornby Star Class

I know a lot of you are waiting for 4061 to shew it's head above the parapet. An interesting ebay photo of her in 1955 on a SLS trip sporting a front bufferbeam number no less. The seller is confused as it's described as a Castle class. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ex-GWR-Castle-Class-No-4061-Gladstonbury-Abbey-Swindon-Works-SLS-Special-/370943035388?pt=UK_Collectables_Railwayana_RL&hash=item565ded87fc
  17. Nice to see you back modelling CK and I also like the buffers available from Mr Franks but I'm yet to use any.
  18. There's no room at the inn unfortunately unless you want to sleep with the Finching sisters in the railway quarters. Seriously though if anyone who contributes on this thread would like to say hello at Warley please let me know. It's you lot that keep me going on here.
  19. I can't believe it's been 21 years at the NEC.I was a teenager back then. It was a bold move going there by Warley but a turnout of 18000+ must have made it pay over the years. The lighting is still pi**poor despite the money the NEC rake in.I don't think I'd fancy being a layout operator there.
  20. ANTB ! Always liked Weymouth as a prototype for a model.Where's Sidecar Racer and his scorpion saw then....
  21. Zach Plunkett is the talk of the village today as he overheard a conversation he perhaps shouldn't have.My DJH kit built 1368 is being made redundant. Minnie and Flora Finching are in bits as they remember it when it was just a box of whitemetal castings.Apparently some Danish firm, where's Mikkel, are releasing a brand new model very soon.A younger, sexier and a better runner perhaps to shunt some wagons by the docks.I wonder what colour the front will be. Happier summer days here as 1368 sits on the cattle dock road.....
