  1. Hi @mallaig1983 you volunteered at the WHR in the 80’s? We may have met? Regards, Bill.
  2. Great announcement!! Looking forward to loading my Warflats with some early Spartans and series 3 109’s!
  3. Just a heads up for those travelling from south of border by Avanti West Coast. Timetable just released for the show weekend. Looks like a bus replacement service along part of the line between Manchester and Lancaster. Journey time from Crewe now over 5hrs instead of 3 1/2 hours.
  4. Nice work Andi. No wonder there is a timber shortage at the moment!!!
  5. Hi all. A request for help. Does anyone have (or know where there is) plans or drawings for Kyle of Lochalsh station building. I vaguely remember seeing some in a magazine many years ago but can’t for the life of me find the article. Any help would be much appreciated. kind regards. Bill.
  6. Hi @Andy Hayter thanks for the advice. found a couple of things which I think could be causing the condensation. The holes is the air bricks were blocked with muck so cleaned them out. The insulation on the north facing side of the roof (where the condensation is dripping off the felt) was tucked into the eves? (Where the roof meets the top of the house wall) so I have pulled it back to create an air gap. Will check again in a few days to see if there is an improvement.
  7. Thanks @Andy Hayterwill be up there this evening moving cardboard boxes from under the north facing roof (currently being dripped on to under the south facing side. While I am up there, I will check to make sure the air bricks are clear. Thanks again. Bill.
  8. Just been up into the loft looking for book and found a lot of condensation dripping off the felt on the north facing side of the roof. Felt on the south facing half of the roof is pretty dry. Not noticed this before. The house was built in the late 70’s and the loft is insulated. The only section boarded is the centre section for storage purposes. There are air bricks in both gable walls. There are no water tanks up there or anything venting into the loft space. I guess it could be down to the current cold snap but concerned how much damp is up there. Any thoughts on what I could do to reduce the condensation? Thanks in advance. Bill.
  9. So sorry to hear of your loss. Some great memories of enjoying the hobby together to treasure. My condolences to you and your family. Kind regards. Bill.
  10. Hoping for some Scottish centre head code 37/0’s in the next announcement. Seems to be popular from reading other posts on here. Oh, did I mention a MK2c announcement would go down well with us modelling all things Scottish as well!!
  11. I get this is frustrating for some but I am sure this is more frustrating for the guys at Accurascale who would love to the see the 37 project delivered to their eager, waiting customers. Given what happened a few years ago in China when many workers did not go back after Chinese new year coupled with soaring COVID infection rates there, I fully expect dates to slip again. I work in the Automotive industry which is still being badly affected by supply chain issues whether it be semi conductors, parts which were previously produced in the Ukraine and Russia and ongoing supply disruption due to COVID outbreaks and restrictions in China. Out of interest, when are pre-orders likely to open for the Class 37 sound chips? Cheers. Bill.
  12. Looks absolutely stunning on Boston Frodsham! Great to see you and the Cavalex team today! Regards. Bill.
  13. Hi Paul. thank you for your kind words and glad you enjoyed the day. We advertise the event as a modellers day rather than an exhibition to encourage interaction between the exhibitors and visitors. From what I could see from the cash desk, there was plenty of interaction going on throughout the day. Only managed to get a couple of snaps on my iPhone of Boston Frodsham. Regards, Bill.
  14. Did I read somewhere that the 1st run of the 1st batch of 37’s is being airfreighted, or did I dream it?
  15. Hi Lucy. Congratulations on your new arrival. Enjoying following the progress. Can I ask what method you used to fade the paint on the brake van? Regards. Bill.
  16. Looking forward to seeing the painted samples close up at the DEFine Modellers day next Saturday (7th Jan) https://definemodellers.wordpress.com/ Bill.
  17. Hi Rob. It is unusual for Bachmann 37 glazing to be so stubborn. I do have a spare set of glazing pieces from a previous Class 37 project if you do end up damaging any. Another option would be to replace the factory glazing with Shawplan / Extreme Etchings Laser glaze, makes a big difference. He also does etched wipers. Happy new year. Bill.
  18. Great review of 2022 Fran. Until you list it all, you don’t realise how much of a busy year it’s been. Looking forward to the 1st of the 37’s arriving in the next few weeks. Also looking forward to finding out what 37’s will be announced on the next run and MK2c’s being announced😜 Happy new year to all at Accurascale!! Regards. Bill.
  19. Great news that the Class 27 volume may get bumped up the list!! Having got all 3 volumes released so far, I can safely say these books are a must for anyone modelling the Scottish region in the D&E era, especially the 1980’s. For me the latest book (ScotRail Express) was the most informative, but then I do have a big interest in 47/7 Push Pull operations. Just need the Bachmann MK2z in ScotRail to finally appear! Looking forward to the Class 37 volumes. No connection to SDEG, other than being a very satisfied customer. Cheers. Bill.
  20. Lamps look effective Rob. Would the lamp be mounted centrally on hoppers bufferbeam? Enjoying the daily updates with a mix of work on the layout and running. The work around the viaduct is looking great!
  21. Looking great Mick. I remember there used to be a lot of prefabs around the Marfleet Lane area. Probably all gone now. Regards. Bill
  22. Sounds like it is being a busy time in the Accurascale warehouse with Class 92’s, MK5’s and now the 1st batch of the 37’s not far away!
  23. Blimey Andi, didn’t realise the project was that big! But then having seen Dagworth and Ravensclyffe, I know you don’t do things by half measures!! Cheers. Bill.
