Phil's been posted back from Fraggle Rock?

  2. Have a look at giffgaff, from the middle of August their £10 goodybag is 6gb and unlimited calls/texts with no ties.
  3. Which heritage railways or museums would that be then?
  4. And if you'd used the facilities available (paid for out of the pot) readers would have still been able to see your work -
  5. Expanded for clarity. :p

    Tim Allsopp

Really sorry to hear that news Neil. Tim had been here since the early days and offered some worthwhile opinions. a really nice chap!
  7. How so? We're completely open with advertisers about the number of impressions and clicks they get so those who ad-block wouldn't show in the figures anyway.
  8. At present it doesn't but we are currently looking at what gets served to whom. And why.
  9. Try the free version of malwarebytes too.
  10. Duly filed for future reference for the next occasion you cause any work for consideration in any action to be taken. Don't expect any support if you ever have any technical issue with the site.
  11. Let's assess the need once products have some updates etc.
  12. Thanks to the vigilance of another member the duplicate topics were removed. However, this topic was originally in Smaller Suppliers (now moved) so the duplicates were probably posted with good intentions rather than laziness.
  13. Happy for it to be in a general area as some analogue types may not see it in the DCC area. My feel for it, photographing exhibition and home layouts which are levels above 'train set', is that it's about 60/40 in favour of DCC these days as a whole. Towards the scratch/kit built stock 'finsecale' end though I would say it's 75/25 in favour of DC.
  14. Are you using an ad blocker when using RMweb?
  15. He'd be upset with that as he was from Stourbridge (it's a Black Country thing) but I agree that he should have a wider audience. He certainly made my lad more interested in English when he was taught by him.
  16. I'll understand that most people won't 'get' this stuff but these two do make me smile each time. Something for lovers of the Black Country.
  17. It's more about the image that you start with Rob. Create a 200 x 200 px square and then paste your pic into and centralise it; your ears look a bit wide so I'd suggest putting those across the centre line so the circularisation doesn't leave you lugless. Anyway, I think this is ewe so try using this version.

    EBay madness

Not sure why the link didn't auto-format and it wouldn't work for me on the mobile last night but it works on the PC when copy/pasted. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bachmann-39-280Z-BR-Mk1-FK-EX-Pullman-WREN-RTC-LAB-14-LTD-ED-for-Modelzone/283554657345?hash=item42052cb441:g:UjYAAOSwaQ9dM0Jt&redirect=mobile
  19. How can you be an optimist when the choice is to tread in a mound of poo or a puddle of sick, barefoot? Which is why we don't do politics.
  20. Kernow Model Rail Centre have teamed up with Revolution Trains to offer the Stobart liveried Class 92. The Revolution Class 92 is, like the well-received Pendolino, being produced by Rapido Trains, and will incorporate the same features as the standard Revolution Class 92s. 92 017 was painted into Stobart Rail livery in 2009 and named "Bart the Engine", being primarily intended for use on the Tesco Express intermodal service from Daventry to Mossend. However being one of 17 Class 92s owned by DB Cargo this was not the only duties 92 017 could be seen on, other examples include working between Dollands Moor and Wembley on Channel Tunnel traffic, infrastructure workings on the East Coast Main Line in December 2011 for example, or even working a charter for Pathfinder Tours between Birmingham International and Crewe in June 2010. The model will be delivered with the main batch of Revolution Class 92s, expected to be during the 4th Quarter of 2019, although this may of course change. The price is £179.95 plus postage and you can place your order through our website, calling our shop, or in person at our Camborne or Guildford shops. The direct product link is http://www.kernowmodelrailcentre.com/p/65673/N23194-Revolution-Trains-Class-92-Electric-Locomotive-92-017 Further news will be given in our weekly newsletter.

  22. I am very saddened to have just received this news. Milton Keynes Model Railway Society - PRESS RELEASE Terry Silver, Exhibition Manager and Vice-Chairman: 1946 - 2019 It is with deep sadness we report that our longstanding Exhibition Manager and Vice Chairman, Terry Silver, passed away in the late evening of Friday 19 July, 2019. He had been diagnosed very recently with Mesothelioma, an untreatable illness which is caused by asbestos damage to the lining of the lungs. Those who knew him are in shock and trying to come to terms with what is a huge loss for us as individuals as well as for Milton Keynes Model Railway Society. Not only was Terry a great friend to many individuals within MKMRS but, as Exhibition Manager, he was the ‘face of the exhibition’ to many layout exhibitors, traders and manufacturers on the exhibition circuit. Terry led our annual exhibition over many years, growing the profile of the show and the attendance numbers considerably. This year, as MKMRS celebrated its 50th anniversary, Terry pulled together a two day show which was attended by well over 3,000 people; this is a considerable achievement of which he could be very proud at a time when many competing entertainment activities are on offer. Friends of Bletchley Station Terry worked not only with model trains, but also contributed to the main line railway. He was Chairman of the Friends of Bletchley Station, a group which was formed by MKMRS and works to provide an improved environment at Bletchley station. Working closely with the local management team at London Northwestern Railway (LNR), Terry led the planting of flowers in tubs and troughs on the platforms, considerably brightening up the experience for passengers and staff at the station. The kind words about Terry from the team at LNR demonstrate perfectly how highly regarded Terry was by those who knew him and worked with him. We will all miss Terry very much; the world will be poorer without his passion for life, his active approach to getting on with tasks and his sense of humour. However, Terry will be missed most by his family and is survived by his wife Susan, his son Adrian and daughter Nicole and her husband Brad, as well as his two granddaughters, Amy and Raven. Charity donations in memory of Terry If you would like to make a charity donation in memory of Terry, his family have asked that you give to Macmillan Cancer Support. Donations can be made online and named in memory of Terry at: www.macmillan.org.uk/donate I met Terry many times, a lovely gent and my condolences to family, friends and the society members.
  23. A similar set-up here with 35Mb in the house and 18Mb in the shed, 100+ foot from the main board to the shed. Very rarely do I lose a connection although 4K video playback can be a little hesitant at times.
  24. He always said he'd sell his memoirs. Any takers?

Yep, I hate it when there's only 7927 cornflakes in the box! (and more seriously, everything being designed to serve 4, when there's only two of us. Used to be even worse when I lived on my own)
