    On Cats

We had a female cat which was followed by a tabby kitten a few months later. They were fine but unfortunately the female cat had feline hiv and was put down about a year later. This left the tabby male cat which was followed by a black and white male kitten a month or so later. While they just avoided each other and there was very little fighting they seemed to be spraying all over the house (both cats were neutered) and this never stopped until we rehomed the tabby and it stopped overnight. Although both cats were noted to be participating. We tried all sorts to get them to stop (not the sweets though) and we in the end had to rehome the tabby when we were expecting a baby (who is now 18)! They are awkward these cats!
  3. Think derails may have added this 45 to the soiled box sale- sound fitted available for £160 (ish)! https://www.derails.co.uk/Bachmann-32684dbsf-class45?filter_name=Class 45
  4. There is a full page add for the class 91 in the September BRM which indicates they are getting close now!
  5. I have just paid £36 for 3 chips -yes they are the cheap 8pin lais dcc chips from eBay but I have quite a few and they have never caused an issue for me.
  6. It does have directional headlights. They are shown on later videos on Facebook just not on the first video as the driving cars were not chipped at that point.
  7. I think the class 89 is nailed on, the longer they wait to announce the closer the model is to release so it’s not a bad thing at all. Well for me anyway!
  8. Also struggling with the witty part! Didn’t see much moaning on here having just read back but the irony is the amount of moaning about this forum on the Facebook thread is much more than the moaning on here about the model!
  9. I notice they haven’t offered just a dcc fitted version ,hopefully it’s easy to take apart and fit a chip. I guess the reviews will tell us. mark
  10. There is a comment on the railnuts Facebook page that their apt set is one of only 3 in the country. Presumably the rest are on a slow boat from China!
  11. Wow just watched they really have thrown the kitchen sink at this and good luck to them. I probably won’t buy one unless it’s available in red or green or grey or some combination like that. This really did deserve an announcement day of its own- hoping for more pleasant surprises tomorrow.
  12. Do we know what stage the second run is at? Is it in production, waiting factory slot etc? Asking for a friend (my brother who can’t be arsed to ask for himself but endlessly witters about stuff)! cheers
  13. Thanks Hayley had the same thought to be honest- looking forward to the magazine reviews and the delivery of my 7 car set! It’s like being 11 all over again!!
  14. It looks great but also looks like there are only interior lights in the driving cars unless it’s the lighting in the cathedral or something? edit railnuts answered my question on the video lights in all cars as we expected!
  15. Have seen the pic of the model on the layout looks really good can’t wait for mine (even though I have no where to run it) but that’s a minor detail. Its on the Facebook page link provided above. mark
  16. May be too early to say but as it’s a recognised brand I would expect Hornby to continue with the Oxford diecast branding but maybe take the railway range into the main Hornby range (like they did with Lima). Wonder what will happen with the mk3 tooling? mark

    Mick Bonwick

Never knew Mick but Inspired by the thread I had a look at some of his work on the middlemiss site- clearly talented with an eye for detail. Rest in peace.
  18. Please elaborate- where have you seen this? Cheers Mark
  19. I was trying to recall this time last year (but struggle to recall this time last week) but did we experience this same drop in cases last year only for it to spike again in the autumn. I am aware the vaccine is a factor this year which it wasn’t last year. So where do we think we will be in autumn? Cases low or on the way to a forth spike?
  20. Are those printed on jumper cables on the front?
  21. Just caught up on this- it’s incredible what some people we only know on screen are going through in real life. Best wishes for a fast recovery hope your back playing trains soon.
  22. I have a sound version 121 was just wondering if I can put the sound chip into my117, would it work correctly? Has anyone tried this? mark
  23. I don’t think given the global disruption particularly in China both with manufacturers and shipping we will see a second batch anytime soon but happy to be wrong! But on the other hand Hattons have lost Bachmann and are also down the Hornby pecking order so producing their own products is probably where most of their profit will be. So in summary- I have no idea! thanks mark
  24. Very true I think the best bet would be to offer the corgi Blackpool trams either motorised for the modeller or static for the collector. The range seemed to be popular when first released with plenty of reliveries on the same moulding. The brush single decker and the balloon double decker I think have the same wheelbase so the mechanism would fit both. Trams still run through the streets of Fleetwood and also the museum line in Birkenhead so a museum line through a city street could be prototypical or a heritage tram on an LRT line. Lastly yes overhead would be a challenge to model sommerfeldt do a tramway mast. Food for thought I guess.

    Class 59 in 00

I thought that sparked a memory too but looking on the Dapol site I can’t find it unless it’s dcc supplies site?
