  2. It would appear there was a seat so perhaps all is not as it seems.
  3. Mike I agree they are a bit bright and of course I know that you will know this. You should be looking away from the lights ad they approach to where your lights are shining. Not be like a rabbit! Easier said than done I know as I find myself caught out by it at times as well so no criticism meant. Lights have indeed become brighter and the other thing I have noticed is the reflection from the few clean roadside signs with the brighter lights.
  4. Some good advice given and it looks like your estimate for a shed was way off! One thing that doesn't seem to have been mentioned is make sure that you actually want to build a layout. Many on here want to but never get around to it. Many more (me included) start one and give up or change direction, lose interest or find it all too difficult. You maybe need to decide what you would like and decide if you have the ability and funds to achieve that before you actually get a shed. Not wanting to sound negative or put you off but I know from personal experience what we want now can soon change. Whatever you decide I wish you look.
  5. Yes Nidge and you would fail your test for it as well. Of course the Highway Code is advice and not law unless it states the Act next to the advice.
  6. Not seen this before so I am thinking it hasn't been posted on here. If it has then worth another look I reckon. https://youtu.be/IgOxglry8Dw
  7. Might have a go at that myself then as we have quite a bit of it. Mind you the thing is with the clockwork stuff it still runs anyway as it isn't quite as finicky as my DCC stuff.
  8. I must admit to liking Jags and owned a Daimler Sovereign some years ago which was very nice but was nicked and burnt out. Poor picture I am afraid but the only one I have. I was also driving one last year for a while either this one or the Estate version. (Not the actual car) As much as I like them they do not make me want to own one. Now the Rovers are a different story either a P5 or a P6 3500 would do very nicely. Only problem is I would have to have some form of agreement with the good lady of the house and as she said she would buy it referring to the Stag last night and doesn't like Old Man's cars (Rover and Jag) I would have to aim to please. Mind you she would love a Mini as well!!!!
  9. I understand why you thought that Russ and i had to read it twice! Yes I think 15k is about the average for a Stag looking last night on the usual places and therefore obviously you can pay much more or much less with the condition of the vehicle in question. Strangely enough the cars for sale on the Stag owners club were far more sensibly priced at first glance. If you look at that price range there is a lot of classic you can buy (Rover P5B?) but the Stag has always had my eye and heart I guess. Not enough to make me want to give up the bike yet but come that day who knows?
  10. Be very interested to hear how you find it then Dave. I stopped using Mach III because of the price sometime ago and now use Aldi version of it where the blades are much cheaper but it has to be said they do not last long. In any event I always end up finishing off a wet shave with the electric.
  11. Depends why it was on the transporter I suppose. Unless you are saying a waste because it had a hard top on. Watched a repeat of the Wheeler Dealers yesterday where they did the Stag up. Lot of controversy about that I seem to recall but nevertheless reinforced my desire to own one at some point. Once again they are rising in value though and they are a car that can be a money pit if you get the wrong one to start with. I think the best advice for me was buy the best you can afford, one that has had the work done properly and then spend your money keeping it in that condition. I would have one in a heartbeat but having got rid of Porsche Boxster that was bought purely as a toy and hardly used I think I will have to wait until I finally give up with the motorbike and then seriously look once more at a Stag.
  12. It maybe worked better on the course than on here. Just guessing.
  13. Whilst I have just agreed with the above post I have posted on here many times before that the phrase 'Speed kills' isn't exactly the full truth. I haven't checked but I am fairly sure none of the members on here are Saints and I suspect that all of us have strayed above the speed limit at times be it on purpose or in error. How many of us have actually killed someone? Oh and I don't really expect anyone to own up to that. Glass houses and stones springs to mind.
  14. Or unless you want the answer to be no then don't ask the question.
  15. Masses of legroom everywhere unlike modern cars where if you are of a standard height and sat in the back you have your knees under your chin. Transverse engine and FWD great for leg room but not for grease monkey's hands!
  16. You do not get 'done' for what you do. You get done for getting caught doing what you do. There is the subtle difference.
  17. When I was driving buses this was a common problem but sadly not noticed by the majority of drivers. I often used to get in a bus start driving at what I 'thought' was the speed for the road I was on be that 30mph or far less in town, 40mph or 50mph and when I looked at the speedo it was way out one way or the other. When you were used to driving these things on a daily basis you 'knew' what speed you were doing (or should have) and to look down and see the speedo telling you something that was blatantly wrong rang alarm bells. On some of our routes there were the roadside 'check your speed' detectors and they used to show that the speedo was way out. When I was the Union Secretary I was responsible for discussing vehicle defects with the Engineering Manager and this was one area where I always had a battle. The Union had an agreement that if a speedo was not working or misreading then the bus would continue in service back to the bus station and then be returned to depot. Occasionally I would hear on the radio that they didn't have a replacement bus and the driver would be asked to carry on. I would be on the radio straight away to remind them of the agreement and the law and force the issue. I was not popular! At times I wrongly used the speedometer app on my phone to check the speed myself. This in itself was a discipline offence but I made sure that the phone was out of reach and visible to me and not the CCTV. The workshops at one point took a bus to the local garage where they had their tacho work done to have it calibrated after a complaint by me. It came back to say it was within parameters and legal which I knew was wrong. I later drove the sister bus and found it to have exactly the same error and the devious sods had swapped the speedo and took the bus to be checked with a different speedo. For some reason bus speedos were often out and that may have been due to tyre wear but I think more than likely it was just down to age and use. In the end the bus speed could be shown by the 'Green Road' tracking system so any argument was short lived. Back in the day when I was doing radar checks at the side of the road the first person caught was often the Parish Councillor who had complained. They always made a point of saying they were the ones who had brought it to our notice to which the standard reply was well you will be glad to see us doing something about it then! Of course 'trying' not to have a smug look on our face. Oh and the parameters we used were 10% plus 2mph before we reported not this 1mph over rubbish.
  18. What is a razor pit? Save me googling it. EDIT: OK just googled it anyway (I knew I would). Worth a go I suspect but it would be interesting what the views of users are on here if the difference is as marked as suggested in the blurb.
  19. More likely copied and pasted from somewhere ad he changed the last bit about trains.
  20. Here you are. http://www.dccsupplies.com/item-p-101185/plug-2-way-suits-esu-ECoS-Bachmann-dynamis-e http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Peters-RD010-2-Way-Plug-for-ESU-ECoS-Lokprogrammer-Dynamis-DCC/331842993549?hash=item4d43623d8d:g:szUAAOSw~oFXIiWy
  21. Not sure what you are looking at but here is the instructions. On the left is the mains supply socket then the angled green plug and then the phono socket for the programming track. https://www.manualslib.com/manual/826085/Bachmann-Dynamis.html?page=4#manual Nearest I can find without going out in the rain to the shed is this but you need the two hole one and not the four.
  22. All very well blocking all these calls but how are you going to get help for that accident you had?
  23. The phono type plug is for the programming track only so it is the green right angled one you want. I am sure you should be able to find one on ebay or ring Bachmann and they will supply one. I take it you bought the unit second hand or there should be a plug with it.
  24. Back in the day when you took your glass bottles back to the corner shop and got your deposit back the shopkeeper would put it with the rest in crates in the back yard for collection by the company later. Then the local kids would climb the fence, nick the bottles and take them into the shop to get the money! Caught a few doing that.
  25. Might be helpful to let others know how you sorted it for future reference.
