Must be the prototype Warthog undergoing testing! :yahoo_mini:

Presumably the person responsible for the cover artwork Googled “Russian tank killer” and didn’t know any better.

Reading the review comments on Amazon (apart from the paid five stars) the author is equally if not more ignorant.

Cheers

On a similar theme was a book cover painting allegedly of evacuees in World War Two at a station.

The dome on the loco was a weird shape, but more tellingly, the loco seemed to be based on an Ivatt designed tender Locomotive in a black livery, with a BR 4xxxx smokebox number plate.

As a painting...no problem really to get it right! ;)

Maybe the plane on the cover is in pursuit of the Spitfire? ;)

Are the other two in the sky the same as the foreground one?

Looks like all four are the same to me...

Oops!

Yes, all 4 of them are Hurricanes!

The second addition has a late war Mark IX with what appears to be a Stuka going down in flames from high altitude whilst puffs of flak appear all around.  At least the main subject is a Spitfire but the context is a little screwy.

The serial is that of a Mk.V, as are the wings with strengthening strips.

Apologies if this has been posted before, but this is an explanation of how banking works:

Young Paddy bought a donkey from a farmer for £100.

The farmer agreed to deliver the donkey the next day...

The next day he drove up and said, 'Sorry son, but I have some bad news. The donkey's died.'

Paddy replied, 'Well then just give me my money back.'

The farmer said, 'Can't do that. I've already spent it.'

Paddy said, 'OK, then, just bring me the dead donkey.'

The farmer asked, 'What are you going to do with him?'

Paddy said, 'I'm going to raffle him off.'

The farmer said, 'You can't raffle a dead donkey!'

Paddy said, 'Sure I can. Watch me. I just won't tell anybody he's dead.'

A month later, the farmer met up with Paddy and asked, 'What happened with that dead donkey?'

Paddy said, 'I raffled him off.

I sold 500 tickets at two pounds a piece and made a profit of £998'

The farmer said, 'Didn't anyone complain?'

Paddy said, 'Just the guy who won. So I gave him his two pounds back.'

Paddy now works for the Royal Bank of Scotland .

Not sure if this is the right place, but an interesting graph on fast food chains.

Some surprises too, for me at least.

So much for the idea that Taco Bell would be the only restaurant chain in the future according to Demolition Man:

Mind you, there's still time.
