I will be visiting on Sunday to have a look at the pretty layouts as I did last year.  Yes food is quite expensive but there was a very nice fish and chip stall there last year so I will be eating there if it's there again, saves lugging a bag of food around with me.  Looking forward to it!

Oh and if anybody fancies some slightly different entertainment after the show on Saturday, head towards Birmingham (near Adderley Park station) and there is banger racing at Wheels Park stadium :)

Racing starts at 5pm with National Bangers, Junior Bangers and Rebels. Good entry in all three classes.

Or if you fancy something else a bit different then make your way to the show on the Saturday via Tamworth (1100) or Lichfield TV (1105) - or any other suitable location on the Trent Valley mainline - Tornado on her way to Chester.

I say enjoy the layouts. There will be about 90 of them in all shapes, scales and sizes. Spending the day looking for bargains could mean missing out on some great inspiration for your own layout. It is also a great chance to speak with suppliers and see exactly what they have on offer. It is good to see who is going to be there from the plan on the website and work out what is important to you.

I’m looking forward to seeing the N gauge layouts plus Revolution and DJM to see what they have to say. I’ll probably have a look at the Dapol stand to see if there are any bargains, I usually buy something from them. I’ll go and admire the real locos and even though I am N gauge I’ll be tempted by a limited edition 1450 in OO. I’ll get myself an N gauge limited edition wagon just because it’s the first time it’s been done at Warley. Like most of us I expect I will see what the likes of Cheltenham Model Centre have got for sale.

Looking at the list there appear to be plenty of specialist trade exhibitors.

I played a big part in designing and building Hortus Halt, Warley club’s new G scale layout, but I won’t have time to run it. It is designed to represent a garden railway and encourage folks to get something running out in the garden. I’m sure the operators will be keen to chat about getting started in garden railways to anyone who is interested. The layout is close to the G scale society stand and Garden Railway Specialists.

Excellent! My son and I will be on a Pendolino to International so will look forward to overtaking. He is now currently wailing as he’d rather “not ride on a silly old pendolino” but rather behind Tornado.

Taking water at Rugby 1010-1030 if that helps.

Can I put a shortbread  order in for stand B87 Phil?

If anyone is passing do stop and say hello. (There may not be shortbread of any description though)

Andy

I sense some delicate negotiations here

I got lynched last year crossing the hall with caramel comestibles....what are the chances of SWMBO baking 2 I wonder????

I'm looking forward to the show. Got my hotel booked. Camera ready to film. First day video should be up on here and my YouTube channel (trains in the attic) at about 8 in the evening of Saturday if everything goes to plan. Shopping list not made. And up to date on my university work.

Thanks - we should see her. We’re on something like the 910 from Euston. I’ll check realtimetrains.co.uk and will try and make sure we’re in roughly the right place!

You'll probably overtake it when it's on the Northampton loop. Any chance of getting off at Rugby?

Yummy! - http://www.thenec.co.uk/visitors/food-and-drink/the-oak-kitchen/

Maybe I'm used to paying London prices but I didn't think the meal deal (currently £13.25) was too bad last year.

It does look rather tasty, in fact next year I think I'll leave for the show early (even though I only live about 20 minutes away from the NEC) and tuck in to one of their breakfasts. Makes me feel hungry already!

I'm a bit nervous about this year's Warley. There's nothing unusual about being on the Severn Valley stand with 1450. What is different is that we will be selling the model railway equipment of two of our members, one of whom was my best friend. He was forever buying the latest new releases and limited editions. So my hope is that we sell loads to support the work of the Charitable Trust.

I need to apologise as I had forgotten to say that all the profits from the sale of these items are going to the Severn Valley Charitable Trust. There are as usual a small number of standard Severn Valley products for sale calendars, books etc as we normally do.  I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post a list so have not, but A3 lists will be on our stand on Saturday.

Van loading well under way. Finish that after breakfast tomorrow then the slog up the M5.

Would you be better going via A31/M27/M3/A34/M40/M42?

Thats the way I go from Poole and it cuts out all the rural roads over to the M5
