See "Backscene" (page 130) from the current edition of Model Rail - there is a connection between them! Regards Mark

Though I have been known to comment that I am barely old enough to recall steam on the ScR. Just snorting black things at the bottom of the street in Edinburgh. Though I like to think that I remember pacifics on the Waverley Route at Hawick station it might well be a 'recovered memory'.

That takes me back to being about ten years old when those Ergomatic cabbed AECs and Leyland lorries were becoming a rare sight, they rusted like mad I remember. Not seen one in years. 3

Ivatt Class 4 43047 has been prepared for the St Pancras - Tilbury Riverside boat train I used to see that train on Saturday mornings at Barking, going through what is now Platform 1. Once, I recognised the passengers as the England cricket team on their way to Australia . I particularly remember Peter May, who I think was the captain.
