There were no etched numberplates with the review model. 
 

I have tested the HM7000 decoder and it will not fit unless the backhead in the cab is modified.

Darn - well, here is to hoping that the next generation of the decoders offer a suitable decrease in size to allow for the ease of fitting in a wider array of models

Further to Jenny's answer, I can confirm there are no etched plates included. I've examined a number of these this morning and none have plates.

That's correct, no etched plates in this production run. I believe a third party supplier may have been looking into doing them, though.

Yes,  but the third party supplier does not do all numbers in the class.  I have had to do a quick change of my order from 1504 to 1500 as this supplier doesnt do 1504.

I'm a bit torn on this one. I really, really don't need one in OO, but I could just about, with the wind behind me and running steeply downhill, possibly justify one in P4 (provided no one was looking too closely)...

In fact, 247 do the entire class so no reason why these cannot be sourced from them.

Am I right to assume the prototype had cast iron painted plates rather than polished brass,  these being postwar shunters?

This is such a nice model, but sadly one I cannot afford or justify right now. Maybe in the future if there’s another run or one shows up on EBay.
