Well you can, just not at a detailed spec, not that the coaches have changed much since the 1990’s.

So what are we talking about , the 1977 model ? Second hand ?

What I’m saying is that you cannot , in any retailer , buy a current model ( most recent tooling, new ) off the shelf of BR original colours - and yet they have th time and production capacity to produce made up ridiculous liveries that’ll end up in the bargain bin no doubt .

Hornby seem to like filling that up on a regular basis

Any Blue/Grey at the moment would be fictitious anyway due to the presence of CDL on the tooling* (and that includes the new tooling that's coming this year).

* Excluding the bodged ex-Lima ones which then have printed CDL when they should have it.

Thanks, it’s purely hypothetical though as I have no where to run one, even if I’d love one . I’m waiting for someone else to do it - as with the 50 - might be dead at this rate before I realise that ambition !

Unless you are the older side of 90 I don't think you have long to wait for a brand new class 50 - as competition to the Hornby versions. Bet they will have the parking brake chains too !!!!

So, the mystery TransPennine Express IET model seems to be making a surprising appearance again - this time in Network Rail's Transpennine Route Upgrade promotional material. Surely it cant be long before it's announced as part of the main range?

(yes, that is an odd hybrid 150/1 / 195 too!)

Surely that's a vinyl on an LNER/whatever one rather than a Hornby livery sample that they haven't shown yet?

Edit, I actually think it's a photoshop as the light pods on the sides near the doors are missing, these are definitely on the Hornby model

And as @Kaput says, the TPE 802 was announced in January.

3d printed samples of the upcoming class 755/4 FLIRT at GETS today. Motor to be a low profile type in one driving car and most likely arriving Easter 2023 according to SK.

(I can never seem to get photos to upload the right way up here so rotate your device/head!)

It's because you are using your iThing the wrong way round. Keep the button to the right.

The perils of being left handed! Many thanks.

Here's one sorted!

There should be a setting in you phone gallery that can rotate any images, one you can use regardless of which 'handed' you are! ;)

So far it looks tempting. If only Hornby doesn’t make a mess of it. Light bleed, derailments, melting roofs, plastic pantographs and awkward decoder and speaker installation are all things which should not have got through QC but have done recently.

I agree. If it comes out as a corker I might buy one as they are a cool looking unit. Not in region, but given my stock is ECML I could have a Peterborough day and hide the Northern/TPE stuff 😂

Some pretty impressive detail on the FLIRT

Impressive looking model, even in 3D printed form (and even through I’m slightly miffed Hornby doing means we’ll probably never see one in N Gauge)

One for the chaps at RevolutioN - safe to say it won't be featuring on Bachmann or Dapol's wishlist for N.

Although then that makes me think how long is it until somebody does a 700/707/717 as they dominate the bottom of the ECML and MML.

We're still waiting for the Electrostar after 20+ years, so not for a while yet!

It comes to something that launching new gauge range to an unknown new market trumps releasing a model that serves nearly 30% of the nation.
