RMweb Premium kevinlms Posted September 10, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 10, 2014 It appears well done (for a change!), but what is this current mania for scrap items littering up the layout? It's not as though most of us have any spare space (or money come to that) to waste. Apparently not! Wish I had that sort of money.

Bodmin Bob
It appears well done (for a change!), but what is this current mania for scrap items littering up the layout? It's not as though most of us have any spare space (or money come to that) to waste. It's one thing to create a derelict loco from a non runner or a model that has sustained some sort of catastrophic body damage - but you have to question why somebody would want to do this a a really decent model in full working condition! Each to their own I suppose but this does seem rather a waste!

If they don't work, maybe somebody else can help out by posting them?) Why do it? I think people see some of the locos on the RHTT trains eg. this https://www.flickr.com/photos/46341292@N05/5210121256/ and think that everything in the past ran round in the same condition. I've been through all of my photos from the 80's and 90's and haven't one in that condition the nearest you get is the shunters and perhaps class 20's where the wash doesn't hit the sides. This is the worst I can find in my collection of over 500 photos https://www.flickr.com/photos/northbriton/10540198163/ and even then the 47's either side are relatively clean.
