Grovenor
Can anyone explain the bidding on this? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/131282466863?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Why did the winner not get it for £57? Or are there two different versions of r***m, confusing if it gives two bidders the same code. Keith Edited September 7, 2014 by Grovenor
Guest
Or are there two different versions of r***m, confusing if it gives two bidders the same code. Keith Seems to me like the only possibility... That, or they are different names but with the same beginning and ending letter and length, but the data protection system which blocks out the middle makes it look like the same... RMweb Gold TheSignalEngineer Posted September 7, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 7, 2014 Seems to me like the only possibility... That, or they are different names but with the same beginning and ending letter and length, but the data protection system which blocks out the middle makes it look like the same... Looks like the system has thrown up the same code for two bidders as their bidding history and feedback rating is different.
RMweb Gold RFS Posted September 7, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 7, 2014 A name shortened to alphanumeric * * * alphanumeric only gives 1296 possible combinations. These must be different bidders, given that they both have different feedback scores.
RMweb Premium newbryford Posted September 7, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 7, 2014 The final Estate is going to look pretty interesting on death.... N15class
How much? It is bent, the tender is from something else which was painted different colour. Even for a restoration for oneself it is expensive. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/O-Gauge-Great-Western-4-6-0-Tender-Locomotive-034-SAINT-GEORGE-034-2-Rail-Electric-/331306403719?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2047675.l2557&nma=true&si=T87YVjotEmzJf4ZWDDWN8WU4B5c%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc
Bodmin Bob
Well it is based on a Drummond prototype. True - maybe he brought it with him when he moved from the Caledonian to the LSWR and never gave it back!

After a message was received pointing out he wrong contents...which should by my reckoning have been a Green "37", two Pullman Parlour cars, and a Pullman Brake Coach! It's not as though most of us have any spare space (or money come to that) to waste. Edited September 9, 2014 by Il Grifone
Thane of Fife
The craze for over weathering items surprises me. I have always slightly weathered locos, after getting the best paint finish possible. I spotted one "professionally weathered" loco with the loco lamps in the same condition as the loco. The professional painter obviously didn't know that lamps were usually removed from their lampirons at the end of a shift. Perhaps he was a professional house painter, and did it all with a six-inch brush. thane of fife
