That’s an old model, Margate made chassis.

The later models have more in the way of proper separate handrails.

Also, it is missing the safety valve casing moulding....which is the solid one from the old Hornby Railways 8750 Pannier Tank loco.

Easily be replaced  - as always on ebay !

If the seller did it the price obviously would be more.

At least another £20, because it's been "restored". Safety valve covers are about £1.50 at times.

Just to put things into perspective, I bought an absolutely mint late version off eBay for £28 including post.

Sorry about the link, wouldn't behave. I would risk £50 on that, strip it and rebuild it. I would probably be better off starting with a new kit though!

Indeed! Better started with this one thrown in the bin!:mocking_mini:

This does make you wonder who takes the photos at RR...

Certainly an unusual way of assembling a loco...

Similar to the inexplicable practice, widely seen, of coupling the tender to the loco backwards!

Why can’t they see the obvious....

When they have others, such as this one....

Somewhere, a two year old is sitting on the living room floor of his parents home, playing with a push along Thomas.

He pauses from his imaginary world, looks up and yells:

"The chimney goes at the front, dumbass!!"

Probably done to emphasise the fact that it's spares or repair :)
