RMweb Gold The Stationmaster Posted December 25, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 25, 2012 For anyone with a sectorisation or early privatisation era layout who fancies a green Class 121 with SYP, 55023 was running around in this livery: http://farm5.staticflickr.com/4021/4210704829_1d0beea31f.jpg 121023 (55023) 1993-09-25 Wolverton Works by Banbury Bob, on Flickr And some footage of it on YouTube: I do wonder why - having gone to the trouble of painting it in that fashion - they couldn't be bothered to get the colour and detail of the llning correct or any other details (e.g blue square markings). But I suppose it does give a sort of impression of roughly what they were like originally which is nice for those who can't remember them when they were new. JZ
Just when I thought that there was nothing else I wanted. Probably get one of each.
trent
I think I'm becoming a Dapol convert, every few days their is another reason to just buy their stuff!! Having followed a few threads from DapolDave and reading his desire to achieve almost perfection at almost whatever cost. Their customer interaction and requests for info far surpass any of the other big manufacturers, and that attitude also buys customers. Look forward to the releases, and a merry Xmas to Dave and all at Dapol. Agree with all of this. Nice one Dave, a NR version pre-ordered. Keep up the great work! Carl BR
I've now got two 122's on pre order with Hatton's for £103 each. Ordered 55002 Blue / Grey and 55012 Regional Railways.
Guest jim s-w
Question for Dapol Dave Will the model use standard 2mm axles and will there be clearance for p4 wheels? Cheers Jim Edited December 28, 2012 by jim s-w
Carl BR
Hi Carl Can I ask, what is the point of posting that? Cheers Jim (genuinely want to know) I was just thinking that Dapol Dave would like to hear that people are jumping on the pre order wagon following this announcement. I got my first close look at the 2mm version yesterday and if that's anything to go by the 4mm version is going to be a great addition to the RTR DMU scene. That's all. RMweb Gold JohnR Posted December 28, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 28, 2012 Question regarding allocations. Am I right in saying that it was Class 122's that were used on the Withered Arm in the 60's, rather than the 121?

RMweb Gold Adam1701D Posted December 28, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 28, 2012 Has Chiltern's Green 55034 been earmarked yet? A superb quality repaint with all the mod-cons for today's railway, including CDL. And it can multiple with Railmotors as well!

Am I right in saying that it was Class 122's that were used on the Withered Arm in the 60's, rather than the 121? Strangely I've looked at this....there's photos of both classes at Halwill and also on the route to Padstow. Not sure about Illfracombe or Plymouth. RMweb Gold big jim Posted December 29, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 29, 2012 it will be interesting to see if the chiltern blue one will have the door bottom protectors/step covers that you can see on the green one in the picture above, also it has a revised exhaust set up as there are no end pipes and it exits through the roof. whether it has them or not i'm going to order one in the new year to replace my Hornby unit

RMweb Premium John M Upton Posted January 3, 2013 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 3, 2013 (edited) Hattons have amended their NSE Limited Editions, the original listed release is now confirmed as revised NSE livery and a new one (both pristine and weathered) has been added in original upswept stripes version. I have taken the plunge and pre-ordered the latter. Better get shot of my Limby repaint sharpish whilst it is still worth something!!! BR(S)
Glad they've clarified the NSE liveries. I've changed to the original one as it will definitely fit into my era. There don't seem to be that many pictures of 121s in the original NSE. Here's two I've found, both 55022 that Dapol/Hatton's will be doing: http://martianphotography.smugmug.com/RecentImages/1980s-New-Scans/27070783_Z2pBhR#!i=2284858538&k=qs8dgvP BR Class 121 "Bubble Car" W55022, in NSE colours, near Acton on 16th. Andy1963
Just pre-ordered Cl 121 in blue from Hattons. Please don't tell the wife, she already knows there's a Western on order, just have to hope she forgets about that before the bubble car turns up!

RMweb Premium brushman47544 Posted January 4, 2013 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 4, 2013 Excellent news, Dave. A GSYP Class 121 for me. But will you supply the internal seating as a separate item so we can replace the oversized ones in our Limby models ? Get's coat... (I don't wear hats)... Chris Higgs
Hi Jim, Yes the model will have 2mm axles and should have clearance for P4 cheers Dave Are we talking conventional axles here, or stub axles in a muff like the N ones? Also are there going to be dummy units as in N? I am looking to get some for the underframes to power a Class 115 I am building. But that will be really very expensive if I have to buy two power cars to do it. Chris

RMweb Premium Gwiwer Posted January 5, 2013 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 5, 2013 Plunge taken. Both Reggierail ones ordered from Kernow which includes their weathered version. RR is under-represented in my collection as are class 122s.
