RMweb Premium Siberian Snooper Posted September 19, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 19, 2017 Kernow, here's the prototype for comparison. prod_43617.jpg Nice dent in the cylinder cladding, I bet that if you modelled that someone would say that you had bodged it up. RMweb Gold Oldddudders Posted September 19, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 19, 2017 Oh, is this manufactured by DJM then? It seems to me (on this particular example, at least), that the cylinders should be angled down a little more. Certainly the cylinders/slidebars and piston/crosshead assembly should all be at the same angle, surely, and intersecting the centre of the middle axle? Other examples in Andy Y's photos clearly show the cylinder and sidebars at the same, increased, angle. It's not all bad news!

brianusa
Loving the gaps around the number plate and the piston rod & crosshead that doesn't line up with the naff looking slide bars, shame the rest of the body looks nice. And here I was thinking it was a nice little model! Brian.

RMweb Gold Captain Kernow Posted September 19, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 19, 2017 Back to 9678 and bauxite then. I'm sure those vans would like to have 1361 in black, fussing them around.

RMweb Gold Captain Kernow Posted September 20, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 20, 2017 (edited) 1363 in black with early crest pour moi monsewers Very cute, Dr Quackydoo, very cute indeed. I'd rather like a little 1361 myself, to remind me of the first K's kit I ever built bodged. Edited September 20, 2017 by Captain Kernow

Certainly the cylinders/slidebars and piston/crosshead assembly should all be at the same angle, surely, and intersecting the centre of the middle axle? Looks to be an assembly error as one of the other BRM samples appears to be absolutely right. Might therefore be tweakable (not that is should be necessary to do any tweaking of course). RMweb Gold gwrrob Posted September 20, 2017 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted September 20, 2017 Keep this to yourselves thanks to Andy York. Of course by doing it this way there's no need now to pop round for a coffee, chat and to run them on ANTB.

RMweb Gold The Stationmaster Posted September 21, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 21, 2017 Harder to peel. I know, just had some for lunch and it was a right beggar trying to find some peeled bits without bones in to share with the cat. Gate-stock? Crikey! Any seen west of Exeter..... I suspect not. The former-LSWR lines had plenty of their own Pre-Grouping stock, and the Birdcages were still in use on former-SECR lines until supplanted by Maunsells, themselves made redundant due to Kent Coast Electrification, in an era - pre-Beeching - when branches were being closed anyway. I'm tempted Kevin but I would have to wait a while if I want one I had Drysllwyn Castle, Rood Ashton Hall and a Heljan 1361 for my birthday this week, I'm like Rob it wasn't seen in Devon so rule 1 would have to be invoked.
