As an aside, is that the original whistle atop the cab ? 

I know they are very prone to coming off, being a delicate addition, and wondered if there are any decent brass replacements available. I could do a search but thought I might ask here if thats alright with you ?

It is the original whistle which hangs on by the skin of it's teeth having been nudged once too often. 

 

RT models do a dome and whistle as a set but I don't intend replacing the dome.

 

Once I have found a suitable replacement, I shall let you know as the other Peckett has lost theirs.

Is it just me, or has the thread suddenly shrunk to two thirds the width it used to be, with a vast acreage of plain blue topped by an empty white bar on the right? Looks really weird.
