Started with some C-Rail containers and added some plasticard plating. Followed by grey primer… … and light grey enamel airbrushed on. Cheers Darius to be continued

I have heard of “rivet counters” but “nut counters”? Sounds like an activity that could cause you to run foul of the law… I also enjoyed the programme and am looking forward to the rest of the series. Cheers Darius

Well, they have already used a shrink ray on the Lancaster to make it fit on the bolster - either that or the Tempest is really really big. Being so yellow, all it’s missing are the Network Rail stickers. Cheers Darius

Thanks John. I wasn’t aware of the availability of the Dapol detail pack but it’s quite good fun making the details out of spares box bits and soldered brass wire. When all is weathered up it passes muster to my eyes Cheers Darius

A question that has been asked of politicians for millennia... Cheers Darius

As an alumni of the University of Bristol, I have been able to join a programme of online lectures on all sorts of subjects from studying meteorites to developing vaccines. On the latter subject I listened recently to Dame Sarah Gilbert explain how the AZ vaccine was developed and how they managed an overlapping programme of international clinical trials and manufacture to accelerate the development of the vaccine all within the approval framework of the medical regulators. She also explained how increasing the time between the fist and second doses (whichever vaccine, Pfizer or AZ) improved the effectiveness of the second dose and also enabled more people to have a first dose. This is the reason for the 12 week gap between doses. As a civil engineer, a lot of the medical slides went over my head, but I am a firm believer in science as, amongst other things, this prevents me from falling through the floor… Cheers Darius

Gavin Williamson the former Minister for Education was the ex fireplace salesman. Grant Shapps is a former Photocopier Sales Rep and Internet “get rich quick” entrepreneur. He did get found out for having a second job under a pseudonym whilst being an MP. And we wonder why things are in such a mess… Darius

Bedford RS RAE Farnbourough mobile fire control units. 1:48 scale ASAM Models. Back in the very early ‘90s I worked on the civil and structural design of the (then) new Airfield Fire Station at (then) RAE Farnborough. It formed the basis of my design project for membership of the ICE. Cheers Darius

It’s the giraffes that make it art. Cheers Darius

It’s only a model. The initial climb is powered by a spring turned on its axis by a motor - Matchbox Motorway style - in the little shed. The coaster gets round by gravity and momentum alone. Slowing down the first descent would prevent it from climbing the second ascent. The whole thing is very sensitive to being on a level surface etc. Cheers Darius

It’s the abrupt stop before the up ramp that is the punisher. Cheers Darius

I suppose this might be considered a “railway” but it is an HO gauge model of a traditional roller coaster built from the kit produced by Coaster Dynamix in the US. It’s not quite finished - still need to add some walkways and the handrails - but I’ve got it working. Also my first attempt at static grass - applied to the originally pukey green plastic base. Cheers Darius

Was the seller being subjected to electric shock therapy when he wrote the listing description? Cheers Darius

If you build it they will come... Cheers Darius

Presumably because production slots are booked months/perhaps years in advance and so instant reruns are not possible. The tooling can be reused - hence the second run of the GT3 - but not straight after the first run. Cheers Darius

I like the World of Railways plus deal. Some of the articles have already helped me with a couple of projects. Cheers Darius -
Looking forward to this appearing. Got an MTK folded brass and a resin kit of the 4DD in the stash which will now no doubt never be built. Cheers Darius

Assuming that you are in the UK, Heljan spares are dealt with by Gaugemaster. A phone call to them might be worthwhile. Cheers Darius

So the OO vs HO argument was started by the Commandos. Who knew. Cheers Darius

The Chaldrons, By Accurascale

Too late. Cheers Darius -
Totally weird - are you buying an actual thing or it’s copyright? Reading the rest of the blurb you need scissors, glue and felt tip pens for colouring so it sounds like you are buying plain card plus some instructions - all for nearly three quarters of a million quid. Or you could just buy a nice house. The seller is aptly named ToshTosh. A quick look at the seller’s other items for sale and their feedback indicates that they also sell somewhat dodgy jewellery. Hornby Railroad GBRF version backdated somewhat. High intensity lights carved off and re-spray into early blue. Cheers Darius

Tried to log in on my iPhone this morning and had the white ad banner blocking the existing user sign in button. After a few tries I found that if you press the new user button that isn’t obstructed you can get an existing user sign in option that isn’t obstructed. Having RMWeb Gold once I’m logged in it’s add free. I can understand the severe annoyance these ads are giving to those without Gold membership but I suspect the complaints are to people powerless to do anything about this and the advertising Nazis don’t care. The only solution I can see is load some sort of add blocking software or go for gold membership. Darius
