Hopefully a couple of good buys heading my way, a pair of unused Hornby TTS MTU sound chips for my NMT, £80

Been after a woodhead electric for a while, this one came up for £115 buy it now which I think is a pretty good price, they don’t come up very often as it is so when I saw the buy it now I went for it

I did have a good study of the pics before taking the plunge and there are a couple of little bits I can see in the pics, a bit of glue around 2 of the grilles

And I’m wondering if there is a way of bending the plastic handrails a touch without them snapping, or even replacing them with metal ones as looking at prototype pics the model doesn’t have a kink in the corner of the rail which is making the front rail curve whereas it should be straight

looking forward to receiving this one, it’s only going to be a display cabinet loco though, although I may run it on analog if I fancy a play, no point chipping it really

Not a hugely good buy - but a DC Kits Class 105 with Black Beetle motor bogie all unused for £89.

Why am I posting it here? It's a reasonable price and it was from Gostude! It looks like Black Beetle's are about £60 so definitely acceptable.

Great find at the Sunday boot-sale. 105 Revell Acrylics, 148 Revell enamels and 55 Humbrol enamels. All new, old stock. (None of the latest, watery type!) Plenty of railway colours. £65!

Recently bought a job lot of 6 loco's listed as broke, by an eBay online shop (a red flag in itself as it's usually stuff they consider too far gone. Turns out they just couldn't be a**ed.)

Managed to get all 6 working but the tricky one was an old Trix flying Scotsman ( renamed Singapore) compounded by the fact the loco body was never going to come off. A bit of soldering, cleaning and quartering one of the wheels and it runs fine on modern track. Even the fact that it sounds like a blocked hairdryer is endearing.  Will go in the oddities collection and selling the other locos should mean I get it for a tenner👍

Patience is a virtue :)

For several years I have been watching D&S Wisbech & Upwell coach packs go for crazy money. Well over £100 a box of 2.

Thanks mostly to Rapido I expect, just got a set for £43 delivered. Although Rapido are only doing the bogie coach. Amusingly, two further sets finished the next day and went for £65 each. Only real difference is they had wheels - which look like they are plastic ones anyway.

Hornby GBRf class 50007/50014 for £100

It says drivetrain removed, so free running, will have to see if it’s just the driveshafts or the whole motor etc, either way I’m happy with it to go with my 50049

turns out I’ve bought it from my former roster clark at colas!

Just being a tad pedantic, but when did car boot sales come under the remit of eBay?

Mike.

It's all second hand and a bargain's a bargain!

Plus,  I didn't want to clutter the place up with another thread.

That would be better than cluttering up this thread with non-eBay purchases.

in all fairness there’s 92 pages and only a handful of those posts are not eBay related bargains, I’m sure the odd post here and there won’t cause any harm, doesn’t bother me anyway

I’ve posted a few non eBay bargains in the past, it’s not like the bargain hunter thread where links to items are put up for everyone’s benefit, I can’t see any issue personally

Id love to know where 33C’s regular car boot is as I never find anything like that at the ones I go to!
