Class 37, by Accurascale

Recommended Posts

Time for a self indulgent post, as I'm constantly running my 37027 with different scenarios. Here is my latest.

Neil.

P.s Mexican Bean is powered and is just speed matched, no buffer lock thankfully!

Any chance of a West Coast Railways example... ? 😆

I can't be the only one waiting on one of these?

You definitely arent the only one. I’ve been told watch this space previously so I would say it’s definitely on the cards at some point.

I was told by one of your guys awhile ago (can’t say who as I don’t know who it was, but it wasn’t Fran) that the art work for most, if not all of the Scottish Class 37’s had been done and they will be drip fed into production to those eager for those Class 37’s based north of the border, especially those based at Inverness over the next few years.

Bring on those Bonny ones ASAP :)

To swap the current function mapping of F29 & F2 on the AS Class 37 decoder the following CVs should be changed:

CV31 = 1, CV32 = 1
----------------------
CV316 =   6

CV31 = 16, CV32 = 8
----------------------
CV340 =   8
CV346 =   0

CV31 = 16, CV32 = 10
----------------------
CV356 =   0
CV362 =  32

Steve

Thanks for the above but am I missing something here. Went through each cv as written above and not a lot changed. Certainly no brake function still. Why am I changing cv 31 and 32 multiple times.

ESU uses CV31 & 32 as Index CVs, this way they can have many more effective CVs.  A succinct explanation can be found here  https://ncedcc.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/210815663-Loksound-Indexed-CVs-CV8-151

If the CVs have been changed as indicated then whatever F29 did has now been moved to F2, and vice versa, which is what you asked for.  I can't comment on whether this will actually give you the "brake function" you are after though.

If you'd like to go back to the original decoder state and you didn't take a copy of the CV values you've changed just let me know.  I can look up the original values and let you know what they are.

There's been mention of the AS sound fitted models not moving off until about speed step 8 when the sound is enabled, at least for the unrefurbished locos.  This behaviour is matched by the engine revs not increasing until step 8, which in itself isn't a huge issue but it does mean that it's not possible to start with a crawl.

I've been trying to find an easy solution, and the best I can come up with involves amending only one CV.  If you change CV124 = 0, then this behaviour is no longer a problem.  (Note, to undo the change simply return it to its original value: CV124 = 4)

On my model I've also been able to reduce the starting voltage, and therefore have a slower speed step one crawl speed.

Simply amend CV2 = 2.  (Original value CV2 = 3)

I've made a very amatuerish video to demonstrate the difference.  Please excuse the 'dining table toy train loop', as I though I might need a roundy roundy for the demo.

Steve

When I contacted Accurascale about the loco not moving at low speed steps Simon suggested  altering the cvs to the same settings that you mentioned. Unfortunately this now means the loco moves before the brake release sounds.

Hi Paul

Absolutely, you’ll get a dispatch notification when your order is sent with full tracking. We are down to the last few hundred preorders now in date order and should be clear all UK dispatch tomorrow. If any doubt of course contact us. We are standing by to help.

Hi

When would the retailers receive their allocation? I have Lord Hinton on order from Rails and need to shift some funds around for it!

Super excited for the first of my 4 37’s to arrive!

Absolutely superb.

One minor niggle is that the bogie wheel sand pipes keep dropping off.  Solved by unscrewing and removing the undergibbon boxes and re-fixing all four sand pipe fittings with a small dab of superglue before re-fitting the boxes.

The Accurathrash sound is amazing as this mediocre video hopefully demonstrates.

Cheers

Am I right in assuming that it’s date order from full payment? So those who payed a deposit and then the rest at a later date (with the newer partial.ly system) are lower on the list etc? Just trying to work out if I should be worrying or not yet 😅

Generally it's paid orders, at the point of dispatch, by order number / date of order - but we have 5 pick and pack lines so depending on the pace of the line, the complexity of the orders (1 locos, versus an order with 3, plus crew, plus speakers, etc) sometimes the 'real' dispatch isn't strictly in order, but if you have any doubts at all, our team are standing by and can confirm the order is good, and where it is in the process for you.

That is the best quality 00 Loco sound I can recall hearing - Go on - put a set of stops on that track - kiss them and wind it up to full chat 👍

Working on site tomorrow and Wednesday so hoping my 043 doesn’t get dispatched until Wednesday so I can intercept the DHL delivery person on Thursday and avoid any more awkward questions about large boxes being delivered!
Cheers.

didnt find a certificate in the box for this one.

37402 is a bit unique… its got different buffer beams at each end.

Several have asked whats the difference between 37418 and the DRS 37’s… its here in the front end..

The led tail lights, and jumper socket, theres also mods on the fuel tanks.BEDD4B91-DC6C-4F29-9FE6-6B61AC6324D2.jpeg.027495a0161488d195b0be2db1ca4bd5.jpeg

(Bachmann 37418 on left has not had eth fitted).

There is one minor mod if dating the engine outside March 2016 to December 2017.. the radio aerial was removed to just a stub.

I will be adding horn socks to replicate above.

Since i doubt much has changed apart from nameplate on37419 to Driver Tony Kay,could be a good move to have some etched plates for a fee for anyone wanting bang up to date.

I used @railtec-models 3D printed ones. A little bit of glu’n’glaze on the painted ones to make sure they stick. Easy to remove in the future too.
