valeofyork
Buffer missing, few marks, nothing really amiss.... Except for the Western bogie and what look for all the world like two stainless steel Alice-bands on the wretched machine's cabs! I mean whaaaat!!??? It's the unique C-Bo It's also acquired the wrong pantograph from somewhere - 90s have only ever had single-arm Brecknell Willis type! As I recall the 'springs' above the bogie are part of the chassis moulding, so they must have been cut off so that the Western bogie would fit. Don't think I'll be bidding... 'CHARD
Tut Tut! Odd that item. It ended early, from what I can make out. Raised over nine nicker. Despite being a counterfeit listing, in this instance.
Bernard Lamb
It's a pannier named Jennifer. There's a song written for her, sing up at the back please - Jennifer, pannifer, tra la la la la..... It looks as though he has taken a little bit too much of a spirit that derives it's name from the same source. Bernard

'CHARD
This guy's fast climbing my PITA list: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hornby-R3094-OO-GAUGE-CHINA-BRITANNIA-CLAN-CHASSIS-BR-SPARES-REPAIR-/221294599988?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item33862f9f34 And yes, the other parts of the hapless loco are listed too. If you're in desperate need for the previous version of the Bachmann "Class 40" parody, then he's starting D396 at the ambitious sum of £80. Don't miss out! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bachmann-OO-GAUGE-30-090-BRITISH-RAIL-CLASS-40-D396-DIESEL-LOCOMOTIVE-GREEN-L-K-/221294591970?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item33862f7fe2 Edited October 13, 2013 by 'CHARD

RMweb Gold Metr0Land Posted October 14, 2013 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 14, 2013 (edited) To be fair, I think the professional weatherer in this case is someone who posts on here. He's done any number of WC Pacifics, all pretty grotty because that what the customer specified. This is his Lynmouth http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/gallery/image/6343-34099-lynmouth/ The photo on ebay certainly doesn't look like Toboldlygo's usual offerings, but it could well have been what the present owner wanted. I would think it IS what the present owner didn't want (too much weathering) and the weatherer is left with his own mess to sell and try to recover costs of having to replace the original owner's loss - OR - more likely - it is just another one of those poor heavy handed, weathering jobs being sold at inflated price. industrial
Looks like the engine went too far down the line at Plymouth and the Royal Navy thought it was one of the new class of battleships upside down and so painted it battleship grey. Although all our views are of course based on a photo which might not accurately reflect how it looks (although I think it probably does). The problem seems to be not the overall colouring but the fact that it is unrelieved monotony which is hardly how they really were - even when they were much filthier than that
