This is interesting - 4 thousand dollars (us) for a Triang train set...

I see he eventually sold it for $2700 (nearly 17 hundred quid), on his third relist I think. Glad I'm not paying his fees

Still, if he picked it up for a couple of hundred from some old widow ......

I've been trying to get hold of some of the old Triang, or Crescent diecast single post home signals. I got a triple signal very reasonably last week, but there seems to be a bit of bidding frenzy at the moment and of course some someone spots this and decides his old tat is valuable - 30 squid and £5.00 P&P

The Crescent signal is very rare - it's not suffering from mazak disease. :D

It might have suffered a repaint though, as all these I've seen have Crescent's strange reversed colours on the arm (red stripe on white arm).

The rest is tat, even the Dublo buffer stop has the wires bent.

Teddy Bear Kit

That a fair price to pay for a kit.

Terry

just arrived back on topic - but had to comment

The price here does include motor and wheels, it is also actually is quite a rare kit to find these days as Horsetan commented it is old and comes from a relatively good stable.

Though compared to the IMO better Constructeon kit it is dated and less accurate and of course compared to buying off-the-shelf RTR (but can you make such a comparison?)

Some how I missed this one with my standard search terms or I would have been bidding - but not quite as high as to win it at that price - so no loss.

Not a railway item, and the price is reasonable, but if you read the full description, the destination blind appeals to my skoolboy sense of humour.

Really exists too! :D

Yes, I've drunk in the pub there - it's the added "Circular" bit that maketh me to giggle! Bottoms are usually rounded - but circular? And I do like the Guy Singles. 50 years ago when I collected bus numbers GSs 29,45 and 82 were attached to our local garage (Dorking) for the 433 route, which passed our school.

Apologies for being further OT!

More to the point some people have bought some?

Surprised you overlookled this! If you're going out waving one of those yellow counters in your hand you need some protection ;)

Is £80 a normal price for a Hornby 121? http://cgi.ebay.co.u...e=STRK:MEWAX:IT

I bought one on ebay a few weeks ago - identical green w whiskers - for just over half that sum.

Bidding fever again I suppose. Two were locked in mortal combat from around the £40 mark! Moral...beware, don't get carried away!;)

It's not his only effort, Airfix Prairie

He's also got a Mainline Standard 4 at £150, plus some more

I wonder what picture he must have been looking at (if any) to do nothing about the spotless chassis area.
