No; it'll be Mon 9th Jan. I'm guessing at 10.00am.

A very informed supposition?  🤪

We could do with a "bite your tongue" Emoji....

Hornby are traditionally big engine and upmarket coaches , so are there any big engines left?  They are already doing Turbomotive , W1 in any form imaginable .....maybe Great Bear , but I cant see it , but then I don't see a huge demand for the Turbomotive either.

I don't understand why there is often quotes about there being no demand or need for Turbomotive.

People do realise it was a front line express passenger engine running on the WCML for about about 15 years? It wasn't treated as an oddity, just a normal engine. It lasted longer than many diesel classes and most of the BR Standards.

New Tools

LMS 8F with an unrealistically early release date...

A larger GWR loco such as the King/castle

A retooled 08/60/66

Rebuilt beaver tail observation coach

LNER tourist stock

D34 Glen

Gresley K2

New Liveries

New LNER livery 225 set

HST's in network rail colas and the EMR purple / intercity livery

Climate change pendolino

Plenty of Royal tie ins e.g. sets / 67's though with the train not being used this might not happen.

You know I thought that when I saw it at the time - but hadn't bothered to check.

My only real with for 2023 is for the Standard 2MT to finally be released

In terms of new stuff:

  • GWR 2251 (though I think this is Bachmann territory)
  • GWR Herring ballast wagons
  • GWR Loco Coal wagons

That's about all I am in the market for, or at least what I think Hornby would maybe produce. I'm not after big locos, crack express classes or one offs, just run of the mill stuff that Hornby don't really like much.

Ex GNR/LNER K2 and K2/2 (Should please both English and Scottish modellers)

LMS Period II gangwayed Coaches

An acceptable ex LMS 12 wheeler Restaurant Car

Pre-Nationalisation GPO Vehicles.

I could think of more but I won't push my luck !

Maybe the Hornby Announcement thread could have a customised "like bar" for those, along with "nothing for me here", "what are they thinking of" and "SK for PM". 😆

Would love that but sadly don't think its likely to have polled high enough for a K2/2 to have garnered attention and to me has more of a Bachmann type of engine feel about it. Could a K4 be on the cards with a K4 61994 and A4 60009 retirement pack given both are now withdrawn... Now I could see that selling to steam and modern era modellers given their length of service on the mainline in preservation.

Plain, or with poppy or sesame seeds? Great with a decent chunk of cheddar and some pickles...

Oh, that sort of Bloomer - I think I might have just made one 😋

A sandwich on wheels sounds like an untapped invention to me.

Serious guess - 57XX Pannier.

One announced in TT and they did say everything in TT would be something they make in OO....

Jason

I'm pretty sure it was "so far". So somewhere down the other unannounced phases... TT will start to run a portfolio that is asymmetric.

(On a personal note, I interpret that as "Multiple units are easier to market at smaller scales... so we'll do more"... but thats wild speculation.)

Rather than a K2, I would imagine a Gresley K4 is more likely with a famous preserved example.

I'd be surprised to see the Castle or King as these tools are both less than 15 years old and there is not much wrong with either.

I'd go for an 8F or Merchant Navy before either of these, or possibly a new GWR Hall (given the Railroad P2 has been replaced by a main range item, there must be a case for a hall).

Yes I clocked that somewhere , maybe in the video Q&A they did , which suggest could be a few mu's coming down the line in TT:120 ,but this is the OO announcement . They are already doing a Flirt . As I said I'd love a 313/314/315 but its not SK territory .

Slightly offtopic, but I badgered (I think it was Ben?) from revolution trains at Ally Pally earlier this year. Wanted to see if I could pull off an inception about getting the N scale 313 into OO scale.

The conversation was along the lines off "we're going to wait 6-12 months... but we have good word another manufacturer might be doing this".

I'll go with more TT stuff - including absolute confirmation of the stuff that they have already suggested.

And maybe selling it via retailers.
